Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll I selected Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland because it is a ic that is still being re-imagined today in many forms. Despite the numerous derivative works that have been developed over the years since its original publication, the story offers enough variation that newer projects such as the recent Tim Burton movie still have many new facets that were not seen in earlier movies. I am also curious to read the original dialogue, in order to be able to compare both the wording and the spirit to the later movies.

Many movies change portions of the story that are integral to its original meaning, and I especially want to know if this is the case with Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I am also looking forward to reading this book because I believe it will simply be fun. How could a story with unbirthday parties, giant mobile playing cards, and a talking caterpillar not be fun to read? I always enjoy reading fantasy stories from different eras, since it allows me to see how the genre has changed over time and how people define “fantasy” in different historical periods.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland has therefore many possibilities for enjoyment on both normal and intellectual levels.
