This is because a nation cannot achieve its economic goals all at once hence needs to wait patiently for the economic growth. On the other hand, the rich Western countries have the self-discipline to work hard and achieve what they have economically. Additionally, they have the discipline to invest wisely. Question # 2 Dalai Lama believes that culture is an aspect of holiness and helps in the promotion of peace throughout the world (Sequel, 2003:45). Moreover, culture helps put a smile in the faces of people. However, each culture is unique and so are its practices. For example, the Hawaiian culture has a connection to the sea, which helps in the preservation of the environment. The Tibetan culture also has its connection to the environment. Consequently, these cultural heritages need to be guarded because they help in the maintenance of the environment. Additionally, cultural heritage enables the gradual development of the lives of people especially within small communities. However, it was possible to keep cultures on because people considered them apart of holiness. On the other hand, people today consider culture as a negative development, especially with the technology. As a result, cultural heritage is significant and needs to be guarded. Question # 3 According to Dalai Lama, there are much news heard about war, violence and disaster from the Middle East (Sequel, 2003:34). Therefore, there are remedies that could be used towards helping the Middle East grow. For instance, the attitudes of people need to be developed. Therefore, there will be a correction of the misunderstandings between people. Additionally, the nation can create compassion, which will be the pillar that holds peace within the Middle East. This is because the thoughts of the minds of people translate into their actions. In addition, through compassion, the poor obtain help hence are less likely to be involved in criminal activities. Moreover, people get equal rights through compassion, which cuts across people in spite of their financial position. However, Dalai Lama believes that religion is the main promoter of compassion within the hearts of people. This is because religion births a kind heart within a person. Question # 4 One needs to change the mental attitudes that could lead to negative behavior. Moreover, people need to learn how to respond in a positive way to what the world throws them. In addition, it is necessaryto know that negative emotions lead to a sadness depressing life. As a result, one needs to learn what it takes to lead a happy life. Question # 5 According to Dalai Lama, low self-esteem is a product of negative emotions within self. Moreover, a person who makes an exaggeration of his or her limitations in growth and capacity is said to have a low self-esteem (Sequel, 2003:32). On the other hand, those with inflated self-confidence also over see their abilities and consider self better than any other considers. What they lack to know that every person has his or her weaknesses. This could be because of anger, unrealistic expectations of self, fear, guilt, false humility or depression amongst others. Consequently, these two personalities need to take a journey of self-awareness in order to understand reality. This enables one know his or her qualities in life.
