The presidency is a vital position since it leads the executive branch of the federal government and is therefore mandated with the development and implementation of policies that uphold the constitutionalism upon which the country operates. As the commander in chief, the president of the United States commands the most elite military and has the largest nuclear arsenal in the world. The constitution of the United States under article vests the executive power with the presidency thus mandating the president with executing federal law, appointing federal executives including cabinet secretaries and ambassadors among many others. As such, the presidency is a precarious position that requires effective consultations in order to formulate and implement effective policies that will guarantee the safety and security of the American people. Furthermore, being a political office the president must formulate and implement policies that portray equality in the representation of all the interests groups thus fostering the development of a cohesive American society. The president consults different people and appoints numerous others to represent him in different capacities. The appropriateness of the individuals the president consults on a daily basis enhances his success. The assignment aligns six iconic individuals who held varied positions in the country and will therefore serve under my presidency as cabinet secretaries. Each of the six has a history of reforming their respective institutions through dedicated service in their capacities. Additionally, they exhibited understanding of numerous concepts owing to their elaborate academic training and mastery of different theories and philosophies. As the president, I will make the best out of their abilities by interacting with them on a daily basis and mandating them with numerous representative roles in order to not only safeguard the American citizenry but to also foster my political ambitions. Charles Edward Lindblom is among the individuals. He was a professor of political science and economics at Yale. With such an exemplary resume, he is a fundamental individual with whom I will interact on a daily basis in order to influence the formulation of policies. Alongside Edward Lindblom will be Alice Rivlin, another economics professor. The two individuals will help with the formulation of different policies owing to their vast understanding of the economy. Furthermore, I will entrust them with the management of varied ministries relating to economy. Policies have adverse effects on the population. As such, the type of policies that a president formulates and implements influences either his successes or failures. With such understanding, Charles Edwards will help inform the policies by espousing the political ramifications of every policy. This way, my administration will make policis that do not only enhance the quality of life for the citizenry but also safeguard the longevity of my political career. Individuals who have since held the position of presidency in the United States are remembered to date owing to their contribution in the creation of the modern society. Most of the individuals fought for re-election. Reelection is often an embodiment of success in the political career besides the reputation a president creates for himself while in the presidency. This validates the importance I will attach to the consideration of the political ramifications of every policy my government will formulate and implement. As such, Edward Lindbolm will be a confidant who will safeguard the success of my political career. Together with Alice, the two will make a formidable team mandated with the creation effective economic policies in order to improve the lifestyles of the citizenry. The economy of the United States influences numerous other economies throughout the world. Additionally, the state of the economy influences the success of a president since by formulating and implementing policies that cushion the citizenry from economic shocks makes such a president pealing to the populace and is therefore the surest way of running for a reelection. With this understanding, Alice Rivlin will help with the management of the economy of the country since I will mandate her with regulating the budget. Her economic prowess will help her evaluate the revenues of the country alongside the expenditures thus formulate an appropriate budget that will foster the country’s economic growth. She will work in collaboration with Edward and will both report and consult with me. Constant consultations ensure that the president is in tandem with the reality. This way, the president appears in the center of the running of the government. The state of the union address is an important annual address that the president makes to the joint congress. In the speech, the president reports the executive’s legislative agenda besides reporting on the state of the nation (Holzer & Schwester, 2011). The annual address is important since it serves to unite the country as the president reports the progress of his government to the policy makers and representatives of the people. The report must therefore outline the state of the nation by describing the state of the economy, the developments the government implemented within the last year and the agenda for the subsequent year. Additionally, the addresses are vital in the success of a president’s political career. The support of the congress is often fundamental in the success of an administration. With this understanding, the president must use the state of the Union address to appeal to the citizenry by influencing the critical congressional representatives. The composition of the state of the union speech is therefore an important process that requires extensive consultations with different stakeholders in order to create a representative report, one that does not merely report on the state of the nation but also positions the president favorably among the congress. In writing this speech, I will always consult Jeffrey Pressman and Aaron Wildavsky. The two are analytical individuals who understand both economics and politics. As such, they will help evaluate the possible ramifications of every development within the year thus influence the development of a representative speech that will not only report the state of the nation but also influence the public by positioning the president favorably. Aaron Wildavsky was an intelligent political scientist who pioneered the works of government budgeting, public policy and risk management. The three are essential disciplines that will inform his role in the development of the state of the union speech. As explained earlier, the speech reports the state of the nation while portraying the country’s future. Different occurrences within the year may threaten the position of the presidency. As such, Aaron Wildavsky will execute his risk management prowess thus developing a speech that covers such circumstances. Wildavsky and Pressman will observe the occurrences within the year and advise the president accordingly. The two are important individuals who will advise the president on the long-term effects of every policy and occurrence within the year this way, the president will coordinate the other ministries appropriately thus ensuring that all the occurrences have a positive effect both on the public and on the presidency. Lunch breaks are brief occasions the president gets to relax and review the occurrences of the day. Depending on the nature of the day, those around the president must present vital information and advise him accordingly in order to portray the position of the presidency accordingly. John Kingdon, and Deborah Stone will constitute my lunch dates owing to their wisdom and analytical personalities. The two are reliable individuals with vast psychological and analytical skills. As such, they will introduce topics effectively and tale them for discussion with the view of enhancing my productivity. The health of the president is important to the nation. As such, the two advisers must have the ability to determine the spirits and attitudes of the president thus introduce topics for discussion and advise the president appropriately with the view of enhancing his productivity. John Wells Kingdon for example is a professor of political science and has vast experience in behavioral science. Coupled with his qualifications in economics, he will make an abled adviser to the president thus influence the mental stability of the president. This enhances the productivity of the president. The two will influence the mood of the president besides helping with the analysis of the prevailing issues depending on the president’s daily commitments. They must therefore exhibit likable personalities capable of humoring the president thus boosting his appetites besides that; the two must have the professional and analytical skills in order to advise the president accordingly. In retrospect, the presidency is the highest office in any nation. The president of the United States is the most important and most powerful individual on earth. The president does not only influence the operations of the country but also influences numerous other nations globally. As such, the president must make appropriate decisions with the view of enhancing the safety of the American citizenry and the security of the country. Such is a challenging job that requires appropriate advice and guidance from able individuals who must share the interests and aspirations of the president.
