EMIRATES AIR: Innovative Policies and Products Student Name: Tutor: Institution: Submission Date: EMIRATES AIR: Innovative Policies and Products Introduction Innovative policies and products are the major driving force for the growth and development of a company. This is due to the high degree of competition in any industry in the market. The innovativeness is mainly for the purpose of ensuring that the customers are satisfied with the products and services of the company (Varey, 2012). It is also important to note that the technological changes directly affects the operations of a business and hence its products and policies. The needs of the customers are also ever changing and hence the need for an organization to be innovative. The innovative policy within an organization is also important as it ensures that the operations of the company are smooth. This is important in terms of reducing the cost of operations as well as increasing the prospects of the company. The innovative policies and products are also important in terms of ensuring that all customers are able to afford the products of the company regardless of their economic status (Block, et al, 2013). It is through innovativeness that an organization is able to attract a wide range of customers for its products and services. The paper thus discusses innovative policies and products as applied to Emirates Air. Personal Travel Coordinator Managing a personal travel plan is usually quite challenging for the business people and also other people working on a tight schedule. This may lead to wastage of time and a lot of inconveniences for the individual. However, Emirates Airline developed a plan that has been quite useful to the individuals concerned. A personal travel coordinator allows an individual to nominate a coordinate responsible for developing a travel plan. The personal travel coordinator ensures that the arrangements for the travel have been made for the individual who only has to be updated of the plans. This innovative service has enabled the individuals using the services of Emirates Airline to travel easily. The cost for this innovative service is quite low for the individual and hence its wide use. The individual is also the major beneficiary of this service as it ensures that they reach their intended destinations on time. It is through such innovativeness that the company has been able to prosper and win the trust of the individuals. The ability of a product to be convenient to the customer is usually one of the reasons that attract the customers to the service. This also determines the rate of the success of the particular product or service (Dávila, 2012). Baggage Allowance The baggage allowance is one of the innovative products of the Emirates Airline. This policy allows the customers to who travel in the economy class to carry more items during their flight. This policy ensures that the customers are not charged for 40kg of their language. This is mainly for the purpose of ensuring that the customers purchase more products during their flight and hence benefiting them in terms of transportation. This policy is however not permanent and it is applicable for a certain period of time. However, the timing is correct as it has come at a time when most of the customers are traveling and buying gifts for their loved ones. Other customers in the other classes also benefit from this policy as their baggage allowance is even more. This innovative policy is thus for the purpose of benefiting the clients during their travel and hence attracting more customers. More customers are attracted by this policy as other airline companies do not have such a policy in place. The customers traveling to more than ten of the company’s destination enjoy the benefits of this innovative policy. The short term innovative policies are usually instrumental in terms of attracting the customers as well as benefiting the organization (Berthon, 2012). Online Booking and Purchase of Tickets In the past, the customers had to visit the offices of the company so as to make bookings and payments for the tickets. This was not convenient to most of the customers who were in different destinations. The time taken for traveling to the offices of the company was a lot and could be used by the customers for other activities. The company also had to employ a huge workforce to handle the customers as most of the procedures were done manually. However with the innovative measures put in place by the organization, the customers are able to make their bookings from any part of the world. This saves a lot of time for the customers as well as their resources. The process of online booking is also easy for the customers and they can do it on their own. This has saved the expenses of the company in terms of hiring more personnel to do the job. This is also in line with the new technological means and e-commerce which is increasingly becoming a popular way of conducting business. The number of customers has also increased as the method of purchasing the tickets has been made easy by this innovative means. Any business innovation that is line with the modern technological trend is quite relevant in the modern business world (Zeithaml, et al, 2012). Business Rewards This innovation is one way of promoting businesses as well as customers who use the services of Emirates Airline. The individuals have to register with the company and they receive business reward miles every time they travel using the services of the company. This is beneficial to the customers as the reward miles can be redeemed and hence saving a lot of costs that would have been used during the travel. This innovative product of the company has seen the growth and d3velopment of most business that use the services of the company. The number of customer has also increased due to this innovative product of the company. This has led to an increase in the revenue collected by the company since the innovation was initiated. On the other hand, the company has been able to increase its competitive advantage over its competitors due to this innovation. Rewarding the customers for their loyalty to the company is one of the most important means of maintaining the customers. Through the rewards the customers feel that they are appreciated and they are also part of the company. This therefore increases their loyalty and hence beneficial to the company. Emirates Airline has been able to attract a large number of medium sized companies and also individuals due to this innovation (Samara, 2012). Emirates Live This innovative product is quite convenient for most of the customers. The company discovered that most of its customers are always interested in one sporting activity or the other. In most instances, the customers usually face a lot of difficulties when it comes to the purchase of tickets and accommodation. The company therefore developed an initiative that ensures that the purchase of tickets and accommodation arrangements is done by the company. The only requirement for the customer is the registration with the company. Once the customer is registered, it is possible for them to watch their favorite sports live courtesy of Emirates Airline. This reduces the cost for the customers as it may be expensive for them to travel for the purpose of purchasing the tickets. In instances where the customers are close to the venues of the sporting event, all the arrangements will be made by the company and they will only have to attend. This innovation ahs increased the popularity of the company among the sports funs who rely on the company. Understanding the needs of the clients for the purpose of serving them better is an important business strategy and attracts and retains the customers (Chonko, 2012). Online Shopping Emirates Airline discovers that most of the customers face a lot of difficulties when shopping. This also includes some of the official merchandise of the company. To ease the pressure on the customers and to enhance their shopping experience, the company established an online shopping system. The customers can purchase the products of the company from any part of the world and hence saving costs. During the flights, the customers can also make purchases and hence saving time. This is convenient to the customers as the process would have been more tedious and complicated when it is done manually. The system is also developed to ensure that the customers are refunded their money incase of any inconveniencies. This is important in terms of increasing the faith of the customers in the company. The prices of the products are also friendly to the customers and thus making the products affordable. The online shopping experience is also compatible with the modern technology and hence its popularity. This is because most of the customers in the modern market relay on technology and e-commerce. This initiative by the company is thus quite innovative and it is beneficial to both the customers and the company. Through ensuring that the customers are able to access the services of the company easily is beneficial to an organization (Mastroeni, 2013). Easier World Travel Traveling around the world is one of the most difficult tasks today. This is because of the increase in the number of restrictions in most of the countries. This in most instances is responsible for the inconveniencies that are caused to most of the passengers. However through innovative means by Emirates Airline, traveling around the world has been made easy. The customers can use only one ticket for their domestic and international flights. This makes the process of traveling easier for passengers who have to travel to multiple destinations. This service is not offered by most of the airline companies and hence the competitive advantage of Emirates Airline. Checking of the languages is only done once as the passenger has reached the final destination. This is unlike other airlines where the passengers have to undergo through the process several times. The use of one ticket is thus convenient to the customers and beneficial to the company. The popularity of the company across the globe has also been on the increase due to its efficient and innovative services. It is for this reason that the company has been registering a high growth rate. The prospects of the company have also been on the increase due to its capabilities and efficiency across the world (Emirates Airline, 2013). Marhaba Lounge This innovative service by Emirates Airline is increasingly becoming popular due to its affordability and comfort. In most of the airline companies, it is difficult for the economy class and other lower classes to aces the first class experience in terms of services offered. The Marhaba service has a lounge which enables the economy class to enjoy high quality services at a reduced cost. The service is offered as the passengers await their flight. This customer experience is quite innovative as it ensures that al the passengers are able to afford its comfortable services. The services are also associated with the business class where the passengers always receive special treatment and hence comfort. The passengers together with their families can access the services during the travel. This brings about the hospitality of the Arab culture and makes all the passengers feel important regardless of their class. Such kind of service is always rare in most of the airline companies and hence the popularity of the company. The cost for the services is also quite affordable for all the classes of passengers. It is thus important to note that an innovative service can be quite useful to an organization. It plays an important role in attracting more customers as well as retaining the existing customers (Guo, 2012). Conclusion In conclusion, the innovative policies and products of Emirates Airline are the key to the success of the company. Through its innovative products, the customers are able to aces several services at a lower cost. It is also evident that the innovations play an important role in terms of reducing costs as well as saving time for the customers.
