CV Writing, Self Analysis, or Self-Assessment CV Writing, Self Analysis or Self-Assessment From a very early age she has always been fascinated by the workings of things like art and how they came to be. She wanted to become a designer of such things when she grew up and even started practicing with models in her backyard after school. Since she has always had a passion for art design and technology, she was always among the top achievers in her class when it came to these subjects. It was not long before her talent and design was discovered and after my high school mu parents enrolled me in an Art Design and Technology Institute. This is the place here she got to fully realize my passion for the arts and design which has been with her to this day. While it is acknowledged that she has attained many of her targets and become proficient in many fields of art and design and technology, she also has some weaknesses and shortcomings which make her not be exactly what she aspires to be. She is an exceptional student since she always puts in a lot of effort in her studies. She has always found her lectures to be entertaining and illuminating since she is passionate about the content taught in the lectures. She has found that she finds it easier to enjoy her classes since she relates to the content in the tutorials to the material which she has read in her studies. Finding materials which are relevant for her studies has always been an easy task given that she enjoys reading novel concepts outside of class. Reading this material out of class then makes her get a clearer understanding and application of the concepts learned in class. The search for relevant materials thus becomes an enjoyable activity rather than a chore. Her reading outside the classroom has however posed a challenge in that she tends to read ahead which seems to make her lose interest in the lectures since she has already learnt of the concepts in her reading. She believes she has to engage in finding challenging concepts that she may use in getting to involve herself in the class lectures and tutorials. The study of IT has always been an interest of hers hence its study has presented her with few problems. This has been also been because she has had prior experience with the use of internet in her initial years of schooling. She has proficiency in the use of the internet and as such the search for materials that augments her study is particularly enhanced. She however encounters difficulties in issues of programming and software which she has not had an opportunity to get acquainted with fully. She is a great believer in the power of consultation hence she consults the senior members of the department and her classmates so that she can get an understanding of these IT procedures. She believes that she has acquired the necessary skills that are essential for the program since she has acquired the necessary IT, and technical skills that would make her study in this program successful. Study of the arts and design course would enable her to pursue design an area which she has always had an interest in since she was young. She believes that this course offers her the best opportunity to become proficient in the area of technology design. She is also interested in art in her personal private life and hence this course would also come in handy. She believes that her study since she joined the program has enabled her to improve a lot of skills in IT, research, and technology which will help in her working and study life. While she is not proficient in these skills she has set herself a goal to ensure that she polishes these skills in the course of her weekends which she normally has free. Teamwork has always been one of the values that she holds dear since her formative years. That being said, she has always found that working in a group tends to bring out the best in her. Much of the assignments that she has had to present in the course have involved the presentation in groups which have enabled her to get an even better understanding of what the course entails. Teamwork though, presents the challenge of conflict in the group since it is usually hard to agree on ideas. Since she is an outgoing and sociable person and has some background knowledge concerning the course from her secondary reading, she always finds herself appointed the group leader in many of the group tasks. Being a group leader presents the challenge of pacifying the different opinions and viewpoints of the group members in order to find a common ground. She also in some instances has had to make tough choices which were not liked by some members. She however prides herself in that she has always managed to avoid confrontations in the group through diplomacy. She can also say proudly that all the assignments that the groups she has been involved in have had good grades in the end. The experience she has had in working in a group will help her in my working life since it represents a prototype of working situations which are full of teamwork activities. She has always had exceptional communication skills in both the written and verbal domain. Much of the work that has been done in the course of the program has however involved the presentation of work in written form. The study program has however required of her to present work in new formats that she has not used before. While seemingly complex at first she has been able to master these skills and she can confidently say that she is proficient in presenting work that is written according to the prescribed standards and format. She however would like to improve on this proficiency by the learning of the more complex written formats which would make her work even more presentable. This course has been particularly helpful and applicable in all aspects of her life from work, study to private life. All the modules that are given in the course have helped her to attain a practical understanding of how technology design and art are integrated in order to form comprehensible and practical works of art. She is particularly interested in the technology that has been used in the design of home appliances and electronics. These topics are for her one of the very significant pointers as to the practicality and applicability of the course in everyday life. She also resonated well with the module concerning models of mechanics which she has always been interested in since she was a child. While some of the material that is learnt in the module is familiar having experienced it in secondary reading and in earlier learning, there are some new material which is still novel. While she is most comfortable with the familiar material, she has come to realize the interconnectedness of the whole module into one coherent whole. Her coming to know of this fact has thus enabled her to tackle this new material from the perspective of previous knowledge by trying to find the connections. This has made the comprehension of the new material to be more palatable and manageable. When she is not engaged in school work or other curricular activities she likes to engage herself in sporting. My main sporting activities are chess since it stimulates her mind and tennis for her physical fitness. She is currently the local captain of their county chess team which has won several tournaments. She also intends to start a mini league for our locality in order that they may have variety and instill a sense of competitiveness which is good for development of the person. She is also involved in volunteering for the Red Cross and a homeless shelter near her estate. She has also attended a number of seminars and training with St. Johns Ambulance in which she is an active member. Read More
