Alcoholism is a gradual development that grows to deteriorate with time. The ailment is caused by several factors like the gene composition of a being. This unit examines the impacts of the AA and Al-Anon meetings to individuals who are fully or partially affected by alcoholism. Impressions and Observations Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) is a global organization that helps alcoholics to be sober. There is a high level of confidentiality in the organization, since the members registered to receive help from the public are anonymous.

The cluster remains secretive to enable it expand their clientele number. The organization campaigns against the side effects brought along by alcohol related ailments (Daniell, 2003). The relatives of individuals who are fanatics of alcohol also undergo difficulties posed by alcohol related issues. The Al-Anon program was planned to help these families put up with the behavior of the addicts. The meetings discuss with an individual the impacts faced from the drinking habits of a relation. Similarities between the AA and Al-Anon Meetings The AA and the Al-Anon meeting are similar in nature, since they are both enlightening and knowledgeable.

Both the meetings are speaker meetings, since they provide room for individuals to contribute their story with other persons. The meetings hearten individuals to accept themselves and strive to modify their habits, since they learn that there are individuals who are far off worse than them but still change their habits. Secondly, both the meetings are speaker meetings, since persons are not forced to share the information they have with others. Individuals who are called to share given a brief introduction of themselves to the members present in the meetings.

Individuals find the process of communique in the meetings accommodative; as a result, the whole procedure turns out to be enlightening for the affected individuals. Thirdly, both the meetings lead to a conditional acceptance of individuals affected by alcohol infatuation. The religious aspect soothes an individual from the pain caused by drinking or relations drinking habits. Lastly, the healing procedures for the meeting are similar, since the organization uses the same strategies to help individuals who are affected by drinking of alcohol (Daniell, 2003).

Differences amid the AA and the Al-Anon Meetings The AA program was initiated to help heavy drinkers restrain from the habit. Addiction is a grave problem leading to serious health and moral connotations. The addiction problem leads to health deterioration issue with an individual and appropriate way has to be put in help these individuals restrain from heavy drinking. Al-Anon is a program for persons who are affected by other peoples drinking behavior. These persons are not necessary family affiliates of the affected individuals, but rather those who are apprehensive on consequences of drinking, and its effects to their lives.

Secondly there is a disparity amid the objectives of the institute, since the Al-Anon system of the meeting is not strict in advocating for fight against s quitting of alcohol. Al-Anon lays its emphasis on drinkers to change their thinking perception regarding the utilization of alcohol. Individuals who are heavy drinkers are encouraged to concentrate on constructive ways like; focusing more on their family lives to minimize on the alcohol intake they take (Daniell, 2003). Lessons Leant From the Collective Experience of the AA and the Al-Anon Meetings The collective experiences gained from AA and Al-Anon are numerous.
