Knowing the consequences of abuse of food, drugs, sex, rigidity, and working with the awareness of what and how individuals compensate to feel whole.Traditional psychotherapy approaches focus on working with and correcting mental events and conditions have placed little importance on the fundamentally physical nature of the person. Yet, many of the problems people bring to therapy are linked with or manifested in the body; such as obesity, psychosomatic distress, chronic tension, and sexual problems.

“The sexual feeling is exactly the same as the other feelings: anger, happiness, sorrow. If we are sexually confident and have the courage to let the individual come to terms, or show the true colour of sexuality, then we have got them under control”.Religion plays a very big role in our society, and our country is so small that everybody seems to know each other. Further, it is very common that you hear people say oh yes this is why she or he is how they are; they are from that family so you carry your whole family with you, people don’t see each other as separate human beings.

I also think that things are changing; as such people dare to talk about the taboos of incest or pedophilia. In this way, the media has shown huge interest in this area. Also, the Danish media have been in the Faro Islands, making documentaries. This is highly positive as it allows individuals to share their stories openly on these groups such as Facebook. This looks promising. Moreover, the politicians finally take this very seriously.I went for my thesis supervision and we discussed my issues of being stuck in my research.

Further, we discussed the fact that working with these women in this context was different, now doing the therapy work for my thesis; as I had protected myself, afraid to go into the pain, deflecting and avoiding and going into parallel processes, so in that way helping my clients to do the same might be easier. ( skriva tað reint )So once again reminding myself of Perl’s quote” I am not put in this world to live up to your expectations”, I realized that I am only human.

In this way, I fall into my old behavioral patterns, and sometimes slightly neurotic engagement;
