Topic:  Do Colors Affect Your Mood? Introduction The connection of colors with human being is natural and everlasting as creative energy of universeis bounded by colors of solar energy. Human mind is a powerhouse of solar energy and every color is connected with the mood functioning of humans. Nature is filled with colors and every color has its significance in everyday life of human beings. Every color is embedded in sun rays and the effect it has on the mind and consciousness of human is profounding.As everyone know, sun is embedded with seven colors as “VIBGYOR”.Violent, Indigo, Blue, Green,Yellow, Orange Red which constitute “VIBGYOR” and every other color is an extension of these.However the primary colors are red, green and blue. Our mind is a complex network of color and every color influences us to perform action in a positive and negative manner. It is said that when a person is in a peaceful mood , their mind is embodied in white color.Other significant color Red and Green has been wired in to every aspect of nature which has subtle connection with us.Red is the fire element in nature and green is the creative power of nature.Color can enhance a person’s life or destroy the mental balance of people.So it is highly recommended for people to follow color patterns to promote their life and wellbeing.The connection of color with human mind and body is complex as well as simple and further into the paper we can understand this subject in depth. What is color? Scienctifically, colors are originated from the pure white light emitted by sun rays.Sun rays when passed through a prism separates into different colors which are not further divisible. Each color has a certain wavelength and this is the reason for the interaction of the color with the functioning of the universe.It is revealed from further study that the light could be combined to develop other colors.For example the primary colors like Red, Green and Blue has the quality of developing in to all major colors detectable to human eye. Most people understand the value of color in manipulating the every day life of people and work according to it. When the colors are co – ordinate well into the life of a person, it brings forth happiness, health and wealth. According to (Emily)“Color can influence our emotions, our actions and how we respond to various people, things and ideas Much has been studied and written about color and its impact on our daily lives”. Probably, this is the reason for the popularity of gems in the world of fashion as the underlying theory behind it is the influence of color in people’s lives.When looked at deeply, every color has a symbolic value and it represents the moods and vitality of a human being. When using colors, it is the energies in them is working which is connected to the energy fields in our body. Colors are powerful and controls the mental and physical balance of people and this idea can be further elaborated below. Different Colors and their Significance The colors are originated from sun and the primary colors Red, Green and blue constitute the main cosmic functioning of the universe. These colors mainly impact the mood of a person and controls his mental and physical well being. These three primary colors can be described in detail as below. Red : Red is the most powerful energy of Sun and it resembles passion, vigor ,strength and power. This color denotes the vitality and power which nature had allotted to human beings with the aid of solar energy.It is discovered that the color red has the longest wavelength than all colors in the universe which can be detected by the human eye. It is the one of the most important primary color which is used to derive many other shaded as orange and yellow. Red is also strongly associated with aggression and anger. Red color is connected to the color of blood and signifies the very basis of the bodily functioning. According to color psychology, the varying wavelengths of colors have a tremendous impact on the body and mind of a human being. Since red has the longest wave length it can be logically believed that it has more obvious effect on human mind in a positive and negative manner. In ancient times the red color was used to stimulate the blood circulation and functioning of body and mind. This color is also associated with passion, lust and vitality and the negative side is aggression, anger and danger. Green : Green is the most abundant primary color in the nature and it is due to the presence of cholorophyll. Green is the color which represents growth, prosperity and hope. All the nature is bound by green color and it depicts the creative energy of the solar power. (Ty) “The color green is often used to represent nature and organisms thrive when the grass is green”. Green is also symbolized with fertility, heaven and its strong connection to nature. It is obvious that the color green has a soothing and refreshing effect on the mind and body of a person. This could be directly related to the life giving energy of this color. Science suggests that green color can diminish fatigue and lethargy in people when surrounded by it. The Green color is represented in the gem “emerald” which when worn promised prosperity, good luck and healing effect to the body. It is observed that people are more relaxed in “green room” due to its cool nature and soothing effect. In general color has a magical power on the emotions and feeling of a person. Since “Green” is a cool color it enhances the cooling temperament of the mind and body of people surrounded by it. Green can make a surrounding look cool due to its “ neutral” nature and also give the same effect to the beings surrounded by it. Unlike red, Green is soothing and enlivening which makes it an appropriate color to be indulged with. Blue: Blue is a universal color which is represented in the sky and ocean and hence has a vital role to play in the lives of human beings. When a person perceives the sky or ocean, their energy level takes a new dimension. This color has the ability to transfer the feeling of a person to calm and relaxed and for the very same reason, it is used in interior designing and artistic world. The feeling of a color is often individualistic and every person has certain colors which inspires and motivates them. Blue also has the power to soothe illness and bodily discomfort. Blue due to its universal presence is strongly connected to the mind and wellbeing of people inhabited on earth. Blue is considered as a constant element in lives of human beings and is a symbol of trust, loyalty and commitment. As per(Smith) “Electric or brilliant blues become dynamic and dramatic, an engaging color that expresses exhilaration”. The soothing and relaxing nature of blue color is which refresh and mind and body of people. The psychologist believes that blue color has the ability to enliven memories and promote the intellectual capacity of a person. This is the reason behind the most official backgrounds being blue in tone. The steady nature of the human spirit is due to the calm and inspiring nature of the universal color blue. Since it is the color related to water and sky the effect it has on the human mood is beyond expression. Different Colors and their Real Effect on People’s Mood The various colors present in everyday life of people and their serious effect on people’s mood and behavior can be described as below. Red- Raises energy level Crimson - Makes people feel irritable. Yellow – Distributes joy and happiness around Blue – Gives a soothing effect to the body. Green – Refreshing and creative color. Purple – Associated with luxury and creativity Orange – Evokes enthusiasm, energy and excitement. Neutral colors Black, Brown and Grey Black – Black gives way a feeling of mystery Grey-Depicts anxiety and nervousness Brown – It gives a feeling of warmth Pink – It is a soft color which promotes purity and innocence. White – represents purity and gives bright effect to the surrounding. The colors are present everywhere in the universe and if seen with a clear mind and understanding, their effect can be noticed in and around our lives. Mostly females prefer soft color like pink, yellow and green while men prefer color like blue, red and black. This is due to the emotional nature of men and bold nature of male as seen in common. In the website(Natalia)writes that, “In expressing the preferences for light versus dark colors, there were no significant differences between men and women; however, in expressing the preference for bright and soft colors, there was a difference, with women preferring soft colors and men preferring bright ones”. Conclusion Colors are not present in nature for an unknown reason but they have a mysterious but an obvious effect on the living purpose of human beings. The potential of colors is never to be underestimates as it is controlling us even while we are unknowing about it. The human eyes can detect numerous shades of colors and still there are colors which are unknown to human eye which are mysterious in nature. According to (Ann)“Colors can change our mood, make us work or feel tired – imagine, your room colors may be the reason for your bad productivity or lower creativity! The human eye sees about 7,000,000 colors”. The color has to be co- ordinate well with life in order to attain the full benefit from nature and to promote the well being of one’s personality. The people who understand the advantages of the colors can utilize it in a positive manner to bring prosperity, health and well being in life. Every aspect in today’s life whether it is personal or professional,color has taken a new ground. Now the life is more colorful than earlier period and the credit can be given to the modern technology and scientific development achieved by the human intelligence. Anyway, it can be very well said that color has the complete control on human emotions and wellbeing in a positive and negative manner. Research and career The research here is mainly done on the color scheme and its affect on the mood of the human beings. This research has been widely helpful in understanding the secrets of nature and its mysterious ways of influencing people. A research is an important part of any career and project taken on color and its benefits to human mind and body has been extremely beneficial in unraveling the mysteries of nature. A research project has the purpose of initiation informative action. In my career as an artist, the very basic focus is on the color scheme and principles of it on the life functioning. I need to indefinitely explore the mysterious world of color to understand their value in co – ordination the very existence of nature. Universe is full of secrets and researching on the color and it effect on mood of people has given me signs of the complex yet simple secret of its functioning. When one observe, it is simple as we are attracted to varied colors in our surrounding. But while looking deep into this matter, one can imagine and wonder about the real meaning behind this combination of mesmerizing colors and shades of solar energy. After indulging in this project I have noticed my appreciation on universe has increased and multiplied. In an artistic world, there is no life without colors. Being an artist one has to understand the potentiality of various colors on human mind and their atmosphere. Research has been part of curriculum since ages and while undergoing this project I understood the real advantage of this activity. As a student I have done my best to investigate into the world of colors and this has given me understanding about the positive and negative energies of universe. I was less aware of the fact that an artistic has a great power in changing the life of people for good or bad. This project has been very informative and has served as the very basis of my art career. Now I feel I am confident in exploring the world of colors and amalgamating my talent into a creative force. Now I understood, any research project is crucial for the development of a career in order to being productive results. My career is art related and color gives life to my potentiality and knowing about the depth of solar energy, I could do justice to my career. This project has also given insight about the functioning of the solar energy in manipulating or influencing the mind of a person. In an art related career, the main focus is to attract people to a world where they feel imaginative and relaxed. If the color has the power to change the life of people then my career as an artist will bloom with more profounding knowledge of the world of colors. I love colors and I am attracted to different colors at different points of my life and undergoing this research project I have understood the real essence of nature which would inspire me to work further in to my career in a positive manner.
