Spiritually, the natural world is associated with images that evoke peace, innocence, and purity. For a long time, critical thinkers, writers, naturalists and spiritual leaders have tried to draw inferences linking nature and spirituality. Ancient societies worshiped and valued natural world items such as caves, mountains, and even rivers. They strongly believed they harboured some supernatural spiritual powers (Boyer 151). Philosophers have provided touching explanations of the supremacy of nature as a source for learning important life lessons and more importantly a source of life. Among Native cultures across the world, there is an elongated belief of speaking in spiritual ways about humankind’s affiliation to nature.

The majority of over-civilized people who are tired and nerve-shaken feel that going to the mountains can be likened to going home; wildness has become a necessity & that mountain, parks and reservations are useful not only as fountains of wood & rivers that give us waters but as springs of life. Awakening from the amazing impacts of the bad habit of over-industry and the fatal detachment of extravagance, they are attempting admirably well to blend and advance their own particular little on goings with those of Nature and to dispose of rust and sickness. Even though human beings do not cause whirlwinds or tidal waves, it is no doubt that human practices, such as unchecked manufacturing, change the eco-system. Rising of the ocean’s temperature, fossil fuels usage is disturbing the world’s weather regions, & the interdependence of the world’s economies has had an extensive effect on the flora and fauna world. Nonetheless, one danger of presumptuous thinking that nature is spiritual or nurturing is that such a view sentimentalizes nature. What is lost here is the hard truth that human beings have—for both good & ill—irreversibly changed the natural setting. Grasslands have been enclosed & woodlands clear-cut. Rivers have been changed course or blockaded to bring water to dry areas. Towns & businesses have led to mini-climate regions. Agricultural practices have become progressively high-tech & encompass the use of genetically altered plants. Rivers & Lakes have been occupied by non-native vegetation & fish, carried in on the hulls of ships from intercontinental waters. Love & admiration for the land & for nature resonate in the worldwide realization, but this very set of sentiments should inspire us to interrogate our assumptions about nature. Admiration of nature can avert investigations of the intricate & disputed relationships humanity has with the natural ecosphere.

The moment one finds himself in the woods & can't see the brink of the forest anymore and you that you can't lay his eyes the sun, either, so he can't tell which path to go in to get out is the moment that he realize that nature isn’t so spiritual & nurturing. The reality is, nature isn't just cruel; it just doesn't care about us human beings. The forest is a big creepy place in which one can get lost, or slew by wild and ferocious animals or killed by a disease. The desert has so many ways for one to be wounded or perish. The jungle is even worse off. Even an ocean or a river is a hazardous place for a human being who isn't well equipped. Nature is a bad predator, an environment full of illnesses, natural calamities, parasites, rapacious animals, slaying & other horrifying things, slightly than romanticizing it or depicting nature as pleasant or motherly (Darwin and Huxely 76). The concentration is on the dreadfulness, vulnerability, wickedness, & cruelty of undomesticated nature. Most of the times, the far we are from nature’s truths, the further we are able to assure ourselves that nature is a friendly & a supportive system in which all creatures live in quiet unity with both mankind & their fellow animals. But the people who reside a bit closer to nature really understand that this is basically not the case, nature isn’t friendly.

Nature is dreadfully cruel. There is great pain & misery all over, often for no apparent reason at all. And still, this is the same system that Christians trust that their God made it flawless & seamlessly good. By the description of its unproven abilities of supremacy & omniscience, it could have developed any nature framework it required, & it made this. Some Christians have claimed that events even as dreadful as massacre can be good if they're done by their God. Seeing a lion attacking a fox, for example, can be horrible and sickening. The lion having a firm grip on the fox on its teeth and pulling it in opposite directions but doesn’t actually tear it into pieces. The fox screams & cries in terrible pain for over 40 minutes until it finally stops and dies. The lion afterward doesn’t eat the fox it had attacked it for other reasons besides food. This clearly portrays Mother Nature as a harsh force, not spiritual of even nurturing at all.

Nature is indeed harsh irrespective of what naturalists and spiritual people say. Theologists will either admit that Nature is cruel but they defend & justify it in order to defend and justify the Almighty one they bow down to or they will just totally refute that Nature is unkind. Nature has a kind of Jekyll & Hyde behavior. The stuff in Nature which bring about agony, misery, & demise are the Natural misfortunes. Predation, ferocity, ailments, bitterness, toxins, parasites, over-population, hunger, deep cold, extreme temperature, typhoons, tidal waves, getting old, & bereavement is more instances of evils caused by Nature. Millipedes, tarantula spiders, starfish, ferocious sharks, alligators, leeches, bed bugs, tsetse flies, cardiac illnesses, strokes, tooth decay among others are roots of anguish & demise to both human being & animals.

If nature formed these atrocious cruelties & terrors, then it is either wicked, or unreasonable, or unprincipled, or mentally and ethically blind. Or Nature isn’t just powerful enough or canny enough to do a better job and it wasn’t unable to stop evil in its own design. It’s an incomplete system. Perhaps the Natural vices were made by the Evil spirit or by Devil & his demons. Or maybe the Devil and followers had powers to change & corrupt natural things which previously existed (Lupa 33). Humans still don’t understand and still can’t say why human beings & animals grieve so much. Nature & its architect are unkind beyond our visualization. Venomous pests and animals bring about unhappiness & death to their targets. Nature has created a big percentage of human beings & animal kingdom meat eaters, making the entire ecosphere an abattoir of viciousness, slaying, and bloodshed.

What was the architect of nature thinking by having all those veracious predators and disease-causing organisms? Maybe nature wasn’t rational at all. Nature would make these things that would harm us for what reason? This clearly shows that assumption that nature is spiritual and nurturing is elusive. Nastiest of all & most harsh of all are the numerous diseases Nature created to torture & eradicate man. Outrageous brutalities such as, aneurysm, cardiac arrest, Ebola, tetanus, sleeping sickness, elephantiasis, yellow fever, HIV/Aids, diabetes, gout, Parkinson’s, plague, skin diseases, liver cirrhosis, cancer, and much more are all corruptions which Nature perpetrates on its creatures. The developer of these dreads is a gigantic criminal, immoral, worse than Adolf Hitler & worse than septic tank bacteria. Nature made the world a satanic hellhole and more like a horrific motion picture ruled by the Devil & not a caring God.

A huge number of people with different shades of a point of views & countless degrees of awareness are troubled by the thought of the massive annihilation of life ever going on in the universe. This destruction has developed into a greater a mystery, close to a nightmare of fear because biological evolution via the persistence of the fittest has been acknowledged as a law of nature.
