ORGANIZATIONS IMPACT ON SOCIETY Organizations are supported by the society and most importantlythe immediate environment they operate in. For this reason, many of them have taken the role of meeting the needs of the present generation flexibly without compromising the capacity of the next generations to take on its needs. In this role, the corporations have to mind their operations and how they impact the natural environment and societies. They are asked to apply sustainability principles in their business processes (Pamela and Richard 2009).

The sustainability implied refers to the corporation’s voluntary activities to demonstrate the cognizance of environmental and social concerns in their business processes. The profoundly affected section of the society is that which is in the immediate environment of an organization. For instance, if an organization experiences economic prosperity, it trickles down to the people who work with the organization. The call to control rather increase the benefits to the societies requires a corporation to act as a good citizen.

The organization focuses its attention to delivering both public and private benefits. To achieve this, it has to reshape its frameworks, business models and rules coupled by a revision of its long- and short-term agendas. Besides economic prosperity, the culture of the society is affected by an organization. In most cases, corporations bring about industrialization which stimulates modernity. The moral fiber of a society may be the most affected by the modernity introduced by the presence of the organization.

The culture is also impacted from cross cultural interaction between the different immigrants and the society. The society may borrow some behavioral aspects from the interaction and in a way they assimilate.Corporations, also have some perceived negative effects on a society. To the conservatives, the change is unwelcome and does not augur well with them (Likens, Driscoll and Buso 1996). For instance, due to increased money supply indecent behavior may crop up. These are habits like drug abuse, crime and prostitution.

However, the benefits brought by the organization outweigh the disadvantages and hence it’s the positives that should matter to the society.ReferencesPamela, S.T and Richard, H.H (2009). Organisations: Structures, processes, and outcomes. 10th ed. Upper Saddle River, NJ: Prentice Hall/Pearson. Likens, G.E.,Driscoll,C.T.,& Buso, D.C.( 1996). Benefits of an organization to the society. New York. John Wiley and Sons.
