For the Hindus, the cow has a sacred value while for the Catholics Shrines have a religious value. In addition, Hindus believe in several Gods, while Christianity believes in one supreme God. The shrines are considered holy and used is get closer to god. To other religions, this is not right as some argue that Catholics worship idols concerning the various artworks found in their churches. Thus, not understanding other religions may lead one to frequent conflicts no matter how small the issue may appear.

Discussion Two

Most people like stories and as such could be an easier avenue in making them learn and understand the traditions. As such, oral traditions may be more easily assimilated into a person’s lifestyle than written scriptures. As people are young and developing, stories, music and dances are very entertaining and good for transferring the culture and traditions (Green & Oldendorf, 2011). Written scripture usually requires knowledge for it to be well understood, which thus limits the group accessing it. Despite this, oral traditions can be altered concerning the situation at hand, which is not the case in written scriptures. This forms one of the main disadvantages of oral traditions of indigenous religions over written scriptures of other religions.

There are so many differences between indigenous religions and traditional mainstream religions. Despite this, they share some similarities (Moreman, 2010). For example, in both religions, blood sacrifice is observed as a means of cleansing humankind and bringing him closer to the gods.
