My Last Days and Tourist Suicide movies This two film productions are all talking about two people who face death unwillingly due to their healthy situations. The first movie “ My Last Days”, talks about this young man by the name Zack Sobiech who is affected by the cancer disease which reduces his life span t around the age of eighteen years. Zach is aware of his full conditions and he knows exactly the fate of his life but he does not show of giving up in life because of his deteriorating health conditions.

In this documentary, Zach is portrayed as a young joyful boy full of vitality like any other normal human being since he participates in playing games together with the friends.Zach displays hope in future by not telling about his incoming death that everybody around him saw as a very crucial factor. These contracts with the second movie the “Tourist Suicide” as in this second the person willingly takes away his life due to long suffering from the neuron disorder. The second movie follows a story of a man aged 59 years by the name Craig Ewert who moves from England to Zurich to deliberately be helped to end his life.

Opposite to the first documentary about Zach, the two documentaries ,one talks about a person accepting his conditions and is ready to face the fate while the other is about one own decision to terminate his life due to long struggle with illness. Zach’s death is natural since he does not do anything to terminate his life but waits for nature to seize its way, he appreciates his condition too. A fellow human being as compared to Ewert does not contribute Zach. In the documentary film of “My Last Days”, Zach approaches his death in a soft way and willing to accept that indeed death was awaiting him but to the contrary.

The second film of Craig who approaches his death with brutality in such a way that he moves far off his homeland and commits suicide in another country which was a symbol that he forcefully invited death. This two characters share the same problems of having diseases that contributes to their premature death but still they differ in terms of spiritual strength. Though Zach believes that his illness will one day bring him down, he still believes in God that he has a reason to live once more again.

He does this through playing guitar and singing to encourage himself that he is still important to the family and the whole society. On the other hand , Ewert believes his sickness is as a result of human consequences and not nature and this leads him to a false assumption that he should not continue living in pain and suffering. Theological Zach’s death is legal while Craig’s death is illegal due to the law that states no one should terminate his own life. In addition, Craig does not believe in life after death since he suggested that after his death, he should be cremated into ashes while Zach tells his colleagues that they will meet again in Heaven.

All this differences are caused by the individual’s spiritual background and the entire societal up growing. Works CitedDocumentary: The Suicide Tourist. (Canada).2007.Documentary film: My Last Days
