Introduction Wars have been a part of the human society from very beginning of evolution. From time to time wars occurred between people in different contexts, different periods and different approaches. It is very essential to understand that wars are not favoured by people but it has been a part of the human society because of many other reasons. In the historical times civil and political wars occurred frequently however in the 20th and 21st century the occurrence of civil and political wars have decreased, which is a positive significance. Ethical and cultural knowledge among people has helped them to understand the consequences of wars that occurred previously. In the modern world there are political tensions among many countries but people try to resist wars because they can only cause destruction. Though some people might believe that wars have positive impacts on technology and it maintains the mortality rate but emergence of wars results in loss of life, which is not ethical. The emergence of massive World Wars led to spread of diseases, loss of life, loss of capital and homelessness. This essay highlights the negative impacts of war in human society along with arguments provided by important people in favour of war. Discussion Most of the people in the world do-not appreciate war and they are against the violence that arises in the society due to emergence of war. However there are many people who believe that wars enhance technological developments and maintain ecological balance. According to the book “The Threatening Storm” written by Kenneth M. Pollack, invasion of Iraq was essential by United States because it reduced the terrorist activities that could have affected the development of many countries. Pollack was in the CIA intelligence and an expert on Middle East politics according to his statements, United States intervention in the Middle East had several positive impacts on the human society. He had many experiences and he provided his evidences in his book in order to make people understand the significance of the war of Iraq. He also mentioned that the United States of America invaded because they wanted to over-throw Saddam Hussein, the volatile and aggressive political leader during the period. United sates of America wanted to establish a peaceful political and social environment for people of the country and they also emphasised on the prosperity of human society. The United States of America participated in many wars and they have stated that wars bring change in the society and it is essential for development of people. According to expert comments from U.S. war hawks, wars can expand and promote economic growth because they provide experience to people and also works on over-population (Michno 92). Undoubtedly, the comment and the judgements in favour of wars might seem essential for human society but actually they are not. From the ethical perspective wars do-not have any positive impact on the life of people in fact they bring misery and loss in the life of people. Many people also state that wars bring evolution in the society and they help in development of technology. From a broader perspective it is significant that evolution comes with time and development of technology arises because of scientific developments. Wars are non-predictable and they only lead to destruction. It has been observed from past that wars have led to disasters and people are afraid of wars. For an example, the World War I included many countries of the world and it was one of the most massive wars that occurred in the history. The emergence of the war resulted in loss of people’s life and property and it also provoked in development of weapons and defence technologies. Developments of weapons and nuclear explosives have put the entire world in terror because it has the potential to destroy an entire country with its effect. Apart from the loss and destruction there are many other factors due to which wars should not be entertained in the human society. Wars have negative impact on global trades and economic developments. The emergence of wars results in loss of money and developing countries suffer on a huge scale due to massive production of weapons. Business and trade relations among rival countries also get hampered due to occurrence of wars. The political tension between U.S.A. and Russia is a perfect example of such rivalries. The nuclear explosion of U.S explosives on Japan was one of the worst impacts of war in human society. The nuclear explosion resulted in the loss of more than thousand lives in Japan and the effect of the explosion is still significant in the 21st century (Flint 43). A war can never bring peace unless it focuses on saving life of innocent people in the world. The emergence of wars results in uneven supply of food and medicine in the countries and it affects the social life of people. In many cases it has been observed that innocent civilians of the world get affected from the wrath of war. Most of the wars that occurred in the past had political reasons behind them and it affected the life of soldiers and other people. Some people believe wars are necessary because it increases the production of medicines, weapons and other goods. The companies associated with the production of such goods get profited significantly. However, it is essential to understand that economic growth of a country does not completely depend on the profit acquired by capitalists. The economic development of a country is measured on the total population of a country hence there is a loop hole in the judgement of war hawks. Wars do-not have any positive significance in the society. In an interview, former FBI agent Ali Soufan stated that the influence of United States was optimum in the development of Islamic countries like Iraq and Afghanistan. He had also stated that the interventions by the United States of America resulted in the development of women empowerment in the countries and brutal political factions like Taliban was removed from power. It is also significant that the American interference in the Afghanistan allowed in formation of peaceful government and better security services in the country. However the impact of the interventions can-not be ignored. It is clear that United States of America invaded Afghanistan because of the terrorist attacks led by the Al-Qaida group (Waugh 276). The main purpose was to eliminate the terrorist group and its leader and stop the terrorist activities that originate in the gulf countries. During the entire stay of the U.S. troops in Afghanistan many innocent civilians of the country were executed. The civilians were tortured both by the U.S. military forces as well as the active Al-Qaida group. Moreover, the political factions of the country also created explosions and originated wars due to which many people lost lives. The situation of Afghanistan went out of control during 2004 but it was re-established and many small wars occurred. Wars are also regarded as unethical because it hampers the social life of human population. The countries that experience wars mostly restrict children from going to schools or employees from going to offices. From an industrialist to a cab owner every person suffers during war periods because their social life does not continue equally. Ethical researchers also state that wars are not essential for economic or technological development (Fry 32). They have also mentioned that ecological balance is not maintained due to wars. Instead of initiating wars political parties of the countries should emphasise more on development of medical science and educational sectors. In order to understand the negative impacts of war, it is very essential to collect opinions of different people of the world. According to a survey poll held in U.K. 69 percent of people were against wars. This shows that wars are not preferred by people in fact they are imposed on people. One of the best examples of an ethical country is India. There have been many conflicts that rose between the two neighbouring countries India and Pakistan. Despite continuous attacks experienced from Pakistan, India never attacked Pakistan in the similar manner. India managed to stop the continuous attacks from Pakistan in a peaceful manner unlike the United States of America. It is clear that countries like India value the life of their people and they do-not want to use nuclear power against other countries. A war has many consequences and it has its reactions as well. Whenever a country or a lower level group indulges in a war due to an issue it makes the issue more complex instead of resolving it. Occurrence of war has a major impact on the relationships between different countries. It has been observed that most of the wars occur between allies because of difference in ideologies or difference in methods of working. In many cases it has also been observed that countries initiate wars to use their weapons and military powers instead of wasting them. Though the use may be justified stating that wastage of money is checked by using them but the consequences of the wars can be drastic (McFarland 15). Loss of human life can-not be justified and political powers of the world must reconsider their thoughts about wars. People are also required to understand that wars may be full of actions and suspense but in real-time they are dangerous and any person in the world would not prefer to participate in wars. After the occurrence of the two World Wars most of the countries in the world have engaged themselves in preventing emergence of such wars in future. United Nations was formed after the World War I, but it started playing important role in the world after the occurrence of World War II. In the last decade there were many incidents that took place along with many conflicts but the United Nations has emphasised on reducing the conflicts in a peaceful manner instead of motivating for wars. The members of United Nations belong from almost all the nations and they are responsible for providing proper human rights to people. The comments made by the war hawks might have some significance under the roof of technological developments but in real-terms those comments cannot be appreciated. The circumstances under which, such technological development occurred cannot be accepted ethically. There are certain alternate techniques that can be implemented before declaring war between countries. In case of political tensions between two nations it is essential to consider the decision of war with allies and the United Nations (Chambers 81). If there are any chances to ignore wars it must be considered because it would save life of people and also save civic life of human society. The destructions that occur from wars can-not be rectified. Wars lead to economic depression and also reduce the social order of human society. Human society is based on ethical values and emergence of wars destroys the values that are important for human existence. Conclusion From the above discussion, it is clear that wars have been an important part from the beginning of human society. Wars are disregarded by most of the people in the world due to its ability of destruction. There are some people who believe that wars are necessary for the human society as they bring evolution and helps in technological advancements. Some of the claims of people are justified because wars bring revolution in the weapon technology and it leads to creation of advanced and destructive weapons. Technological development with respect to creation of weapons is unethical. Moreover, wars bring violent behaviour among people. The emergence of the World Wars has brought terror in the mind of people. With the initiation of wars people loose life and property and these losses cannot be recovered. Most of the people in the world are afraid of wars but the political instability in the world leads to emergence of wars. Researchers against the idea of wars have stated that wars lead to death of innocent people in the world, which is unacceptable. Wars should only be supported against terrorist activities or during limited options. Hence, it can be concluded that wars are completely unethical because it brings destruction in the human society.
