Tension between individual and the community Insert Insert Antz is an entertaining animated film that has excellent material for social studies. However, across the entire movie, various social research themes emerge in the movie. Among these themes include; culture, bureaucracy as well as different ideas of different philosophers. The film is all about an ant colony in Central Park in New York City. Has there are various cultures and traditions in different countries, so do the ANTZ. The arts, as well as the lifestyle in the movie, are elaborated using the clothing style. In addition, they give more details using works of art as and the way people think in the community (Zahed, Katzenberg & Damaschke, n.d.). In addition, there is a hierarchy of different offices in the movie as well as in the general society. Moreover, the movie ANTZ depicts the rights of individuals in the community as well as the role of democracy in the commonwealth. On the other hand, the works of Plato also elaborates on the ability of individuals to make their choices regarding their leadership. For instance, Plato puts it that the community is primarily formed to for mutual benefits to satisfy especially certain common needs. Plato goes ahead to explain what makes up the community. For instance, he describes the community to be an economic structure maintained by the working class and the merchants. Moreover, he explains that the military and leadership continue the guardians guarantee security needs. However, this entire are indicated the movie ANTZ in that; the film gives a clear indication of direction and author as well as a hierarchy of offices. The tension is viewed in the society in that, it majority who makes up the community in that; the rule of democracy governs them. On the other hand, Aristotle has the same view when it comes to his opinion about the community. That is, Aristotle has the same political point of view just in Movie ANTZ and Plato’s point of view. In Aristotle works, he agrees that the community is created with an objective towards some kind. That is, the leadership of the people needs to bear the needs of the population and make them be their responsibility. However, a tension exists in an individual as well the community in both works of Plato and Aristotle in that; they both have a clear definition on how justice should be implemented. In addition, they all explain the merits of having the rule of democracy in place. That is, the state of the majority should be followed. However, there are various characters in the play as well as in the works of Plato and Aristotle. In the entire works, there are those individuals who prefer work independently, and there are those who prefer to work as a group. For instance, Protagonist by the name Z favors freedom in the play. That is, he prefers to be independent and self-reliant other than depending on the society. From the movie, one of the Z’s friends told him before he dies that think more of themselves other than the community. From that point, Z started changing their thinking gradually from thinking of the colony to thinking of themselves. In this pointy, it is clear indication that an individual plays a greater role in the society. Therefore, there is a high tension in the society as whether an individual should operate himself or participate with fellow community members in community development. As a person has a significant role to play in the society, the society also contributes a lot to a person life. Basing on the movie ANTZ, people do not just form society without apparent reason instead, they form it because of reasons that base on security and order in the community. For instance, Thomas Hobbes and John Locke agreed that together they would form a society so that they can to defend themselves from the horrible termites that pose a danger to their security. However, the flow of the story goes hand in hand with the works of Plato and Aristotle. Therefore, the society supports an individual and together they co-exist and thus boosting harmonious relations in the community. Leadership styles are also clearly explained in the movie in that; there is a General Ant by the name Mandible and a colonel called Cutter. They are the ones who are under the control of the army in the name of Queen. In this case, the queen is the head of the colony, and the General is the dictator. That is, he controls the activities of the colony. At the beginning of this movie, there was a dictatorship kind of leadership, however; as the film continues, there is a transition of leadership style from dictatorial leadership to Democratic leadership. However, there is tension in that; Plato agrees with this direction because it is the rule of the people for the people. However, Voltaire might not agree with this kind of leadership for he prefers the dictatorship kind of leadership. In his opinion, he concludes that a human being is rarely worthy to govern him or herself. In general, both the works of Plato and Aristotle tries to explain the role that an individual can play in the society. It also illustrates the merits that one can acquire as being a member of a particular community. In this case, individuals have to work together for the benefit of the community as a whole. However, there are those persons who have a different opinion on how the leadership in the commonwealth should be conducted. In the movie ANTZ, the works of both Plato and Aristotle has the same view of the political position in the community. Initially, individuals had a different perspective on how they should be governed. However, they both agree that leadership has the responsibility of ensuring that the security of the members of the community is under control. In this play, Plato explains that it is the responsibility of the guardians to ensure that they give the interest of their community member’s priority. On the other hand, Aristotle gave a clear picture of humanity as well as the struggle to create earthly order. Therefore, the entire film is about the social responsibility of the community to ensure that the community has a better place to stay. That is; giving the members of the community freedom to lead them through electing their leaders. However, tension arises because of different opinions that individuals can have the leadership in the community. For instance, other people believe in dictatorial leadership while other believes in democratic leadership style. Therefore, despite having a different individual opinion, the movie has the theme of togetherness. All individual need each other ensure that the community has good leadership and enhanced development. However, the entire movie generates tension in that; it tries determining between oligarchy and democracy that on should be given more weight for the betterment of the community. Moreover, the film attempts to explain the role of justice in the distribution of political power.
