The number of memberships of churches that people have has increased.[Cha11] According to the prospects of many scholars, the modernization, urbanization, industrialization, bureaucratization and advancement in the science has not reduced the religious beliefs amongst all.[Har11] The discrimination and the disrespect of the older people who have worked several years for the organizations have increased. [Ros00] Description: This connection shows that the people of America are involved in the religious activities these days as well. But the after affects of those activities are not much. As the society they have their participation in the churches, as the numbers of memberships have increased as compared to the previous years. But when they were surveyed or asked that how many of them stay involved in the religious activities regularly, the percentage of people responding in the favor of question was quite small. On the other side, when looking from the individuals’ perspective in the daily routine tasks, the implications of religious morals and ethics are quite less as well. To respect the older is amongst the major principles of any religion but in the offices these days the older people are disrespected and they face a lot of discrimination just for the reason that they are old. The services that they provided to the organizations for the years are not appreciated anymore and these people are dealt as the costs to the company. Connection 2: Some aspects of modernity have reduced the religious involvement at some level. People who belong to urban and wealthy societies are less religious as compared to the others. The people only visit churches on the weekend but the crowd is not huge and they spend very less of their leisure time in the religious participation.[Ing00], [Cha11] There is no respect for the old people in the offices and they are either harassed or disrespected with insulting jokes, assumptions about frailty and ailments, patronizing behavior. [Ros00] Description: In the same article of Mark Chaves, Ingle hart and Baker claim that modernity has reduced the religious involvement of the people. Although they have the memberships but the visits to the churches are not much. Very lesser percentage of the people that is participative spends only an hour or two hours in the religious activities such as reading Bible etc. When the people are away from the knowledge of the Bible and morals that their religion supports, they automatically start getting involved in the activities that are not ethical. So when the people harass their seniors in the offices with the bad jokes or insulting behaviors referring to chapter “Ageism in the American Workplaces”. They portrays through their behaviors that they are not conveying the morals of their religion because they are away from it. That distance from the religion makes them able to do the unethical activities in their daily routine tasks. So they misbehave with their co workers and juniors. Connection 3: The religious “Language and Ethnicity” is the one that defines the group of similar characteristics. It organizes people from different movements and institutions. [Cha11] The work place ageism is increased due to multiple cultural, demographic, and structural factors. [Ros00] Description: Religion of any group defines their culture, norms, values, traditions and ethics. It defines different groups based on some similar characteristics. It combines the people from different colors and castes. The people from different language and ethnicity can have the same religion. According to the morals and values of any religion the people from any society, color or background should have the equal respect. Referring to the chapters of the book these days the people have made religion the factor on which they can discriminate others. Same goes for the offices, the people there are disrespected based on the culture, background or age factors. Even the legal systems and regulations are not stronger enough against these types of discriminations, especially, against the unfairness based on the age. The dedication, commitment and hard work of the older employees are no more considered to be the important factors and they are terminated from their jobs many times for no reasons. In the situation, when they are not terminated, they either face the harassment from the supervisors and the co workers or they are demoted to the lower paid positions. All of these activities are increased because of the lack of religious morals in the people. Connection 4: The blacks are more religious as compared to the whites and women are more religious as compared to the men. [Rob00], [Cha11] There is a race, age and the sex discrimination between the employees, black women suffer more loneliness, and white women suffer more poverty as compared to the white men. [Ros00] Description: Referring to the articles, the black Americans and the women are more religious than the white men. But they are facing many unfair behaviors in the offices. This can be due to the reason that is explained in the quotation taken from the chapters that as the black American and white women are more religious than the white men, they have the stronger values and morals. They do not mistreat their fellows and the co workers but they are mistreated because of their soft behavior or age. In the offices, there are a fixed number of seats for them, so they are in the minorities and are badly treated by the white fellows. White Americans are lesser involved in the religious activities so in their practices such as in their offices and work tasks, that distance from religion has lead them to act up bad with their fellows such as women and black Americans. Further on the other side a huge percentage of the black women suffer the life of loneliness. White women as well, when either become widows or get retired from their jobs they suffer the life of poverty as compared to their men. The reasons can b many; either they do not get their pensions properly from the organizations they worked for or because of the limited income and more expenses they were unable to save earlier.
