16 April 2008 mates Evaluation Cortney Black: This mate of mine is a perfect example of an effective leader. She is helpful to other people, responsible in her tasks, and smart. She can efficiently lead by being a very good example to her teammates. For example, out of the market dynamics group, she was the one who stand up and decide to be the compiler of their team. I really admire this unique sense of initiative from Cortney. Without her willingness to help me take over market dynamics compiling job, I would probably be dead by now with all other compiling jobs I have on hand. I hope she can present more of this strength because she can surely be an influential and powerful leader. Donald Brown: At first, Donald seems to be just an ordinary classmate with nothing really special about him. However, as time went by I notice a characteristic which sets him apart from a typical student. Different from the rest of us, I can say that he has deep sense of responsibility making him punctual in submitting individual requirements and his tasks for group projects. Donald's responsibility and punctuality might be the reason why he also expects other people to do the same. Honestly, his traits are infectious as also find myself being more attentive to deadlines. Arosha Desilva: Arosha is one of a kind and deviates from my expectations of what a typical guy should be like. First of all, he disproves my misconception that organization is out of a man's vocabulary. Seeing his lecture notebook and handouts for the first time, am amazed at how systematic he can be. Second, I always thought women should be nurturing and men should be authoritative. But not with him-having him in my group is an honor because he was always there to support me especially at times when I am losing my confidence. His calm personality enables him to manage stress and helps me focus on the job at hand. This trait stood out while we were on the process of writing the report and juggling it with our other individual requirements. Lastly, who says all guys are more tech savvy than girls Well, everyone has his own set of strengths and weaknesses. Computer skill is definitely not of Arosha's strong points. Sean Detorres: Sean is someone I can never forget in this class. I admire him for his helpfulness and sincerity. Being on the same team as a compiler with him, I have seen how transparent he is with his feelings. Among my group mates, there have been instances that Sean and I have dissenting opinions about matters. I have to admit that I sometimes find his opinion rather irrational and unprofessional. I do appreciate how Sean shows his true feeling of disagreement on me, because it made me realized my flaws. However, I do wish Sean could have come up and talk with me in person and let me know what he is experiencing from me instead of just showing his dislike. I am thinking that maybe he is not just that vocal and has problems verbally communicating his feelings and emotions thus, he just resort on showing them. This is a room for improvement for him. I believe that he should work on his communication skills in order for him to effectively and professionally deal with his colleagues. Joshua Feng: I can say that Joshua has two good points-he is very smart as well as very articulate. During the class, he has been able to show his knowledge and skills in tackling different topics. I believe that these capabilities are really exceptional. I have noted that even though some people are smart, they do not have the capacity to share what they know. This is not the case with Joshua-he s knowledgeable and is very willing and articulate to communicate what he knows. However, I should also add that he is lazy and like to procrastinate at times. Well this can be justified by his efficiency and adeptness which enables him to tackle tasks in no time. When he starts doing his work, I am amazed how at fast and well written he is. Without his laziness, I am sure he will become a influential leader. Gabriel Jenkins: Out of all the classmates, Gabriel is probably the one that I have least contact with. Maybe it is because of our individual differences which hinder us to be a part of the same crowd. But I believe it is because of her rather shy personality which makes her quite unsociable with other classmates. I have noticed that she only interacts with people she is close with. Looking from afar, I believe he have a lot of strengths that I have not seen. However, I suggest that Gabriel needs to start contributing or stand up to make an impact to other people and the class. Unless he makes the commitment of overcoming his shyness and begin interacting with others, he cannot fully share his knowledge and skills at the same time limiting what he learns from other people. Joey Kennedy: John is notably responsible, on time, supportive, cooperative, understanding, friendly, and influential. In fact, I can say that he is one of the best classmates that I have both academically and socially. He is the person I have learned a lot from. He really stood out to become a good force which motivates me to excel and become a better person and student. I really admire how Joey always takes the extra steps to double check everything and making sure things are right. With the position he was in as a compiler dealing with different types of people and getting people turn in their work on time, he never once had lose his temper or show any disagreements. In contrast, he shows his professionalism by being very supportive of trying to get the team to achieve our goal. He always has a positive energy and attitude to everyone and every situation that we faced and I can say that this is often very uplifting. He never loses his passion and determination even if it means working at 4 am in the morning. Joey definitely is the best example of a leader among my classmates. Alex Lawson: My first impression of Alex is that he is one of those smart aleck classmates who only cares about having good grades. But I have to admit that I was wrong with this. Yes, Alex might have been very concerned in making sure that he puts all his effort in order to have the highest grades possible yet he also cares about being friends with other people and helping them. All in all I can describe him as smart, creative, liable, and intelligent. He was very helpful helping us to develop our strategies. Gina Lee: Gina is smart, has the ability to work really fast, and cooperative in order for the group to achieve its goals. I am able to witness how Gina really puts effort to contribute to her group to the best of her ability. However, the only thing Gina needs to improve on is on being careless and paying more attention to details and requirements. Because of the requirements of turning in some tasks and juggling them with other concerns, she often lose sight of small things. Other than that, I see Gina being powerful women in the business world in the future. Lance McNeil: From the first day of class, I can say that Lance is one of the most helpful and friendliest classmates that I have. He often takes time to make friends with other people and making them feel comfortable around him. Being very supportive, he often extends a helping hand to those people who are needy of his guidance. During group activities, he takes time to really cooperate and contribute his skills. However, I believe that Lance needs to improve in his time management skills in order to get more things achieved. Ryan McCay: He seems to be very responsible and a reliable team mate to have. Although the only contact I had with him out of this semester is compiling his Market Dynamics work and he was the one who initiated and got entire class to meet for strategies report. Even with this short interaction, I know that Ryan can be an effective leader in the future. Kelly Mossburg: Kelly is one of the most popular persons in class because of her confidence in herself. I can say that Kelly has been influential during class discussions because of this attitude. Her sense of responsibility enables her to present and tackle her assigned tasks. Another strength of Kelly is her unwavering positive attitude which is infectious. Amidst the stress, she is able to maintain a positive outlook and never see to get tired of reminding us that we can achieve our goals even with the various difficulties. Travis Noland: Travis is smart, helpful and cooperative. However, have to say that this classmate has not been able to really make an impact in class because he remained an average student which is really disappointing. I believe that Travis could have contributed more should he had been more bold in showing his capabilities and influencing other people. Eric Perez: Who says a guy does not really care about his courseworks Eric disproves this by showing his deep sense of commitment in his assigned tasks. He may not be very smart just like others but he makes sure that he gives whatever he has in order to achieve the best results. I really like this kind of attitude. Oftentimes, it really doesn't matter what you have but how you use it to attain success. Another thing about him is that he is helpful and supportive. I have never hesitated to ask him questions because he takes time in answering queries the best that he can. Brad Stevenson: From the first day of class Brad has maintained being very quiet. Yet beyond his silence, I know that there is a person inside him which is honest and reliable. This might seem contradictory but I find Brad friendly. However, I have to admit that I made the first move in approaching him because he really is very shy and silent often times. He seems really responsible even though he is not verbally articulate. I have also noted how organized he is. Yuno Tsengun: Yuno is helpful, responsible, and cooperative. However, I also have to add that just he maintains being the average student who did not stood out. Aside from this, I believe he has a lot to share to the world especially his optimism and candid attitude. Mitsu Hamada: Mitsu is quiet, hard working, always on time cooperative, responsible, and careful. These qualities comprise his competence and strengths which he willingly shared in class. I have to admit that I have learned a lot from him amidst the fact that he often remained silent. I believe that Mitsu needs to have more confidence in himself in oral presentations because he do in fact have a lot that he can contribute.
