Propagation of Chinese families got discouraged in the United States (Andersen & Hill-Collins, 2013). Most Chinese people would travel from China to the United States to look for income that they could use to advance their life in their home country. Some of the few Chinese women who were in the United States served the role of prostitutes so that Chinese men would not intermarry with other races as this practice was not allowed. The Chicanas got colonized and had their land taken away. They lived peasant lives and thus families would work on farms to provide labor on different tasks to better the family earnings. The Chicanas consider the extended family as a very important element of their life. They adopted good parenting strategies to safeguard their culture and values (Andersen & Hill-Collins, 2013).

In my opinion, the policy on families should consider not only married but also single parents.

Professional occupations that are very demanding have also led to the immigration of more women into the United States to do low-paying jobs. Read More
