Differences Between Pleasure and Participation SportsIf one takes a close look at the world of sports, one will be able to see that it can be divided into two categories: pleasure and participation sports versus power and performance sports. It is crucial to understand the difference between them.To begin with, there two kinds of sports are different in the result that they produce. The former time brings happiness and joy: the losing team does not feel offended in any way; everyone is satisfied with the outcome.

On the other hand, the second kind results in a victory for one side and the failure of the other. There is a tremendous gap between these two emotions. In addition to that, the attitude of people who are involved in these kinds of sports are different. Those who seek pleasure and participation do not put much effort: they like the fact that they interact with others. Contrary to that, those who participate in power and performance sports put all their efforts to achieve victory and are dissatisfied greatly if they lose.

One should know these differences as it helps one to situation people within the social framework correctly (Coakley, 2009, p. 11). In other words, those who are engaged in pleasure and participation sports enter this kind of interaction for completely different reasons than those who participate in power and performance sports. That is why it would not be a mistake to suppose that these two groups of people will feature a different behavior while integrating into the society. ReferencesCoakley, J. (2009). Sports in society: Issues and controversies. (10th ed.).
