Number] Introduction Those repeated cycles of poverty, famine, civil war, epidemics, and so on did not affect appetite. But you may not know, in the last three years, the price of coffee fell by fifty percent and a significant decline in the price of farmers’ harvested coffee was seen, but the same beans were sold in supermarkets without cutting off any prices. You may not know that one percent chain of coffee shops charge a cup of coffee which is less than the profits of farmers in the coffee used for making one cup. You may also not know, in South Africa the farmers of sugar cane cannot even afford sugar, and a few years ago, not only for the sugarcane farmers but also for their families, the sugar has become unbearably bitter. You may not know that there are about 6.5 million cows in Africa Mali (Mali), which were forced to provide nine thousand tons of milk per year and they get very less in return. And on the other hand each cow farmer in Europe enjoyed more than nine hundred dollars in grants. The EU issued each sub-Saharan Africans benefits less than nine dollars. You may not know these things or ignore Oxfam’s initiatives that they are taking in order to make this world a better place. Part 1 Oxfam International Oxfam International is an international development and relief influential organization, which includes members from all over the world, including 13 independent operations of the organization. Oxfam targets countries which have agreed to their motive of "people against poverty," although the system is not mutual, but cooperation with each other gives fruitful results. Oxfam International (Oxfam) is an international development and relief NGO and a combined organization of 17 groups. It was in when the movement was established in Oxfordshire, England, formerly known as Oxford Committee for Famine Relief. Oxfam International is an organization that was initially consisting of members from the 12 independent countries, and these members are known as Oxfam composition, they all jointly work for the eradication of poverty and injustice. Oxfam is currently present in the worlds 115 countries according to a report in 2000 with local community organizations to work together to carry out pro-poor development. Oxfam is firmly committed to the implementation of pro-poor development and disaster relief efforts in the world. Some of their projects include community development, integrated rural development, income-generating activities, small-scale infrastructure, health services, education, capacity building and policy initiative. Oxfam works with people living in poverty, seeking to exercise their human rights, to protect their status by Freeman and run their own lives. Oxfam believes that they will be able to eradicate poverty and injustice in the global movement for change. The team works directly with communities and seeks to influence those in power to ensure that the poor have the opportunity to improve their lives, livelihoods, and the right to vote on decisions affecting them. Oxfam believes that respect for human rights will help lift people out of poverty and injustice, and allow them to protect their dignity and ensure sustainable development. Pros Oxfam is independent and free from differences based on races, gender, religious and political boundaries. They face and solve problems that are in context with poverty and poor populations, improving their social system, so that poor people have equal resources and development opportunities, which is an important method of eliminating the main reason of poverty. "Self-reliance" is the main purpose of the work of Oxfam; "rights-based" approach is the way of Oxfam. They believe that everyone is entitled to respect and care, basic rights to food, shelter, employment opportunities, education and health care, etc., to build a fairer world in sustainable development. on the basis of this approach, they carry out a number of effective ways to work in different countries and there are nine main points o which they emphasize. These nine points includes rural livelihoods, rights and interests of migrant workers, primary education, rural health, AIDS prevention, disaster relief / prevention and the environment, civil society development, gender equality and world citizenship education. On international affairs level, Oxfam is also working closely with developing countries, including China. In WTO they emphasize on giving subsidies on agricultural issues which will help developing countries to progress firmly. Oxfam also considers just and rational international political and economic order as well as a peaceful and stable international environment as an important safeguard to ensure poverty alleviation and sustainable development. Oxfam actively promote policy research and lobbying governments and international organizations to work together to reform unfair system. Oxfam is a tax-exempt organization, the tax system can review and regularly report to the management and supervision of the organization for the report, this will help to establish clear financial control policies and procedures. Oxfam has no religious and political background and purpose, but also never vested or services in any religious and political groups, and never accepted donations from foreign governments to raise funds. They usually adopt the policy of raising the funds from local donors. Oxfam is not just making sure that people will be given a financial loan, but also that they provide guidance throughout the process. Thus, they learn to engage in business on their own. It shows them that they are responsible for their actions and debts, and teaches them to run a successful business and proud of its own success. Oxfam is not only linked to establish more areas of Poverty Alleviation Office and Ministry of Civil Affairs and other contact systems, but also they are involved with other government agencies They also try to establish a new partnership or contact, such as the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce and CPPCC. They support LGOP officials investigators and also help and assist officials, including deputy director of the Poverty Alleviation Office of Poverty Alleviation Office system, including the South Asian countries to visit (India and Bangladesh) for various studies. Through investigations, the Poverty Alleviation Office officials carefully understand Oxfams projects and their principal practices and achievements of India, and that is the reason that the Government of Bangladesh wants to help the poor people. They realized the importance of these countries to participate in government poverty alleviation projects and improve the ability of target groups. These visits to the Poverty Alleviation Office are concerned with the full development of rural communities, urban poverty; strengthen comprehensive cooperation with NGOs innovation policy to support nationally macroeconomic policies that are more favourable to poverty-stricken areas and vulnerable groups provide inspiration and reference. Not only they work through keeping their main focus on countries but they also monitor the big giants of the industries. When the world is moving into an era of globalization, and gradually becoming more flat, more and smaller occasion, then there comes a logical question in everyones mind that why more than half of the earths population is getting poorer? Silent Sound wins Oxfam believes that abundant supplies in the world and poverty should not be the reality of life, and that is not fair with the people who are bearing this and fighting with it. They believe that every life has dignity and opportunity; furthermore, they toil diligently to make this idea come true. Some people think that too much poverty, too widespread in the world has resulted in great complications for the survival of human beings. This problem of poverty is rising as the leader of most of the social issues in world affairs. UN officials and other figures which can only be used in strategizing have failed to get a man in the street to a lot of trouble to bother. In fact, let the worlds children get primary school education. According to a report of Oxfam, they need to have ten billion dollars a year in order to provide primary education to those children who are unable to get it and, on the other hand, every year Americans spend more than ten billion dollars on consuming ice cream only. Oxfam works with full dedication and put in great efforts to eliminate the hardships of a poor man who barely has money to afford a meal per day. One of the most important and successful campaigns of Oxfam is their campaign of "Make Trade Fair" movement which they have taken with an uproar manner; their "fight for change in unfair international trade rules worldwide is mostly taken as their signature campaign". One another campaign that Oxfam conducted, "The Voice Campaign" (Big Noise) have accumulated more than 17.8 million signatures from around the world, and growing.. To get close to WTO (World Trade Organization, WTO) respiratory medicines and Oxfam International specializes in the establishment of the World Trade topics office in Geneva. Oxfams "Make Trade Fair" campaign, by definition, that is not fair for the globalization of business undertaken: they urge rich countries to stop any form of dumping, including the rules of trade-distorting domestic farm subsidies. They want to ensure that poor countries will not be ignored without any reason, and WTO rules should protect the loss of life and they also ensure that the products of poor countries should gain more equitable access to world markets. "Make Trade Fair" campaign was launched initiatively back in 2002, which lasted for seven years. The campaign was to win the awards for Centre for Global Development and Foreign Policy Magazine in Washington, co-presented with WTO Supachai president, who also called on rich countries and multinational corporations that continue to motivate fair trade initiatives. The campaign includes actions on the levels including international, regional and national levels, and the government and in international organizations (such as the WTO), and multinational corporations as well. Oxfam, together with other non-governmental organizations, lobbying at different levels, have a necessary goal, and that is to build a huge network of international sports initiatives to combat unfair conditions to change the existing system and specifications. Cons Transparency is crucial to a charitable organization, only to let the public know every penny they spend in the name of donations are somewhere, so then they can the rest of them can be assured that donations to charitable organizations are there to be managed effectively in some beneficial operation. Oxfam is responsible and prudent in the proper use of funds and its management and monitoring of poverty alleviation through internal and external independent review of project management mechanisms that are coupled with strict administrative cost ratio. The Annual Club facilities are also published for the purpose of transparency through the annual financial statements. Each year, at least twelve million children under five years old suffers because of poverty and have face and fight with dangerous diseases and fatal illness and mortality. Over 13 billion people lack access to clean drinking water and basic sanitation. According to Oxfam, it is important that every person in the world should have access to basic health and nutritional care and in order to provide them this they need to have thirteen billion dollars annually. But as the ignorance of the people continues; in U.S. and Europe alone, people spend more than seventeen billion dollars on pet food. All these issues and situations are being taken for granted not only by many ordinary people but also by a lot of governments, and that is the reason of their economic downfall as well. Due to their intervention in the corporate world, they had to face a lot of criticism as well. For instance, in the case of Starbucks, back in 2006 when Oxfam accused Starbucks for being the reason of Ethiopian farmer’s low annual earnings. Not only Starbucks here, but also the National Coffee Association in US gave statements against Oxfam and claimed that they are misleading the Ethiopian Government. But in the end, now Starbucks is not at all engaged in direct trade with the Ethiopian Government and that’s where we can observe that Oxfam was very right in backing those poor farmers. There were also criticism on Oxfam that they trying to get into the corporate world under the name of a charity organizations when they started opening many specialist bookshops of their own. But obviously that never was the case because all Oxfam wanted to reach every poor person or at least try to reach the maximum number of people. According to the Deputy Director of the Humanitarian Department of Oxfam, Nick Roseveare, one of Oxfams qualities is that it is a "reasoning" organization. Notwithstanding; he additionally accepts that this inclination to a deeper examination can make a conflict and lead to issues of offset. Scratch felt that they got the equalization in Gujarat wrong as "Oxfam needed excessively exhaustive and coordinated a reaction which implied that they attempted to do an excessive amount of and this essentially got unmanageable in a quick onset crisis" Part 2 Oxfam is being targeted by a number of Israeli media blitz and Jewish organizations Pros Oxfam International is a global movement against poverty. Oxfam International has an alternate structure for working in building nations. Previously, its 17 offshoot parts have freely embraced their own particular improvement programs, with the come about that there could be various Oxfam members working in one nation and undertaking their different projects. Oxfam is currently undertaking a significant change of how the confederation works, moving towards a ‘solitary administration structure. Some people also criticize Oxfam International as an organization that takes money from the richer and lend it to the poor ones and this is quite wrong according to them. According to the critics, Oxfam is more like an organization that is much more interested in proving the richer countries as guilty rather than working for a social cause. John Foster, a previous head of Oxfam Canada, contends that a number of associations have occupied with limitation toward oneself for expect that promotion work may drive off accepted givers who need each altruistic dollar to be used on assuaging destitution on the ground (Shohan). Cons Oxfam tends somehow to behave in a supportive manner, politically, for a number of underdeveloped countries. Oxfam reliably paints an exceedingly misdirecting picture of the Israeli conflict with Arab, leaving from its helpful mission centred on neediness. On many instances, Oxfam explanations delete all many-sided quality and accuse Israel solely for the circumstances, and these twists and their effects help fundamentally to the clash. Oxfam additionally bends financial examines of the West Bank and Gaza, more than once contending that that the sole obstruction to Palestinian development is Israeli strategy, disregarding intra-Palestinian restrictions and components. In 2003, Oxfam-Belgium delivered a promotional banner of "Israeli orange" dribbling in the blood to push hostile to Israel blacklists. The heading read: "Israeli products of the soil have an intense taste . . . reject the occupation of Palestine, dont purchase Israeli leafy foods." After challenge started by NGO Screen over the anti-Jewish "blood defamation" suggestions, Oxfam withdrew the fight. But there have been many cases observed, and Oxfam was found to act biased. Over their issue with the Israeli government, their spokesperson, who is a n actress as well, Scarlett Johansson resigned from her ambassadorship stating that she had a difference of opinion with the organization over this issue. Also in it was observed in London, when Oxfam was found to be too close with the New Labour Government of Tony Blair and a number of NGOs apposed this attitude of Oxfam. So, the political influence was there in Oxfam and if it was not then there, still some political biasness was often observed in Oxfam’s different parts. There was a claim made o Oxfam back in 2007, when they were being charged with the complaint of misleading conduct through their Trade practices Act and its promotion of Fair Trade Coffee, in Australia. There were so many other types of complaints that were similar to this complain. But of course there was nothing like this and no proof was found ever, and that is the reason that this complaint was also dismissed by the commission. Not only is that but according to a report, Oxfam is trying their best to force some foreign tax on the maritime transport. Such an assessment would inflate the cost of all merchandise that would be exchanged with means of delivery. Initially, it would add to the challenges that numerous developing nations have been taking care of their demand for nourishment and by pushing this type of tax, Oxfam is going all against their own roots. Conclusion Oxfam is committed to protecting the safety of the people and the peace initiative, and has implemented effective emergency relief measures, such as providing food, water, temporary shelter and medicine to help with reconstruction. Oxfam progress and regular exchange of ideas poverty alleviation work with partners, mutual support and expand areas of cooperation, explore and try to effective poverty reduction practices, especial government agencies and NGO explore closer cooperation in an efficient way and mechanism. The Oxfam group sees itself as a feature of a global development that is working towards such points, and which along these lines grasps an extensive variety of improvement Ngos, Cbos, and social developments, North and South. Oxfam gathering impart a typical set of conditions, which are worshiped in like manner working standards and on the Set of principles for humane organizations. Oxfam is committed to the mission of facilitating the building of civil society organizations and non-governmental organizations. They do it with the appropriate interaction with the government and that is why the business sector is gradually growing towards a more transparent, with more efficient direction and higher performance.
