In higher education, the term quality assurance is used widely to refer to practices, which are academically maintained standards such as achievement of standards higher education graduates. The term internal quality assurance in Higher education refers to those practices and policies whereby institutions govern and improve the standards of their education while on the other hand external quality assurance is used to refer to supra-institutional practices and rules which are applicable to quality higher education programs (Newton, 2000, Pg. 65).
