number Travel Essay Travel Project: Milan Travel Philosophy: I never understood the resounding passion circulatingin travelling in such a romantic city like Milan. Milan like any other European city is rocked by a deep sense of humanism, art, literature, fashion, architectural designs and an ever rejuvenating Italian culture. The city is the second most populous city of Italy and the financial capital of the country. The city has managed to emerge from the horrendous damage subjected to it by the world war. Currently, Milan has continued to foster a robust zeal in tourism courtesy for its comprehensive packages affecting leisure, and education ventures. In my stay in the city I intend interact with a variety of cultures and societies; for instance, the rejuvenating football menace courtesy of two giant rival clubs Inter Milan and AC Milan. This essay will guide through a comprehensive out plan for each day that I will apply to feasibly taking into close consideration the determinants of cost and a foreign culture and soil. Tour After going through the Eye witness guide, I was intrigued by what Milan had to offer, firstly, the scenes exhibited in the magazine help me develop a realistic image of the city even though I have never been there before. Through imagery, I got oriented in major aspects of the city; for instance, highways and land marks, definitely Milan was my choice destination. I contacted my passport agency and asked them to book me a flight to the city. I choose an online application where I would supply my names and an image, compared to the traditional manual application. I paid using my credit card United which in this case can be used as well in Milan. Pap the application is done, am already packing my bag. Milan is a city located in the Mediterranean region, and cooler months are expected to begin in October and end in March. In the travel guide, I also got acquitted with an advisory weather guideline which I had to abide to. In the tour guide I learn Milan is the most modern Italian city, which has attributes of an Old Italian city with modernity inclusive. In the city there are combinations of several factors which offer resounding learning place. The number of churches and grand palaces with slightly prosaic, and business – oriented place buildings with ancient or modern presentation speaks great about the city. I expect to visit the Brera district and the lively university square prompt me to develop a cognitive justification of Milan as the center city. After successfully booking the flight, I visited Hostels.com for a convenient reliable Hotel service. My choice hotel is Hotel Brasil since it situated near the main train station therefore, fostering good public transport connections. I choose a private room since I desire privacy to focus and revise about the day happenings. The hotel has a convenient luggage storage arena and free internet access. I get a single standard private which is payable at 57.97 US Dollars. I also prefer this hotel since meals is readily available and Pets are permitted. (Mobile Reference, 2010, 12) The next internet access is the Eurail train booking. I prefer this choice of travel since it is reliable and convenient. Besides, the train is faster and can connect to various parts of the city as well as other cities like Torino or Rome which have an intriguing culture behind. There are inherent services that the train offers; for instance, while travelling long distances I would like to experience the Italian cuisine. The train will be stopping near the main train station for check ups. The prices for city services are 37 Euros, while those for up country and neighboring countries are Euro 131. I have opted to stay in hostels and use trains because of their convenience and excellent services. The goal is to ensure that I do not over spend while enjoying the full bleak of learning and leisure. Secondly, Hostels are naturally occupied by students who are in a learning process. Therefore, my dreams come to reality with international students will be fulfilled at this stage. I will also be able to access downtown malls where my cuisine life can be extend as well as, get a glimpse of Italian fashion and art. In the evenings I will be free to work to the city square and go back to the hostel at ease. There is also a necessity to use buses for shorter distances. Buses dock at central station and charge between Euro 10 and 14 Euro buses. The taxi hire will be convenient from and to the Airport because of the close consideration I will be carrying my luggage and mostly my camera which will be very vital in the learning escapade. Again, while considering accessing downtown areas ATM will be a considerate choice since they have up market tickets which cost as little as Euro1.50 and are available at tobacconist with a large T-Sign. The tickets can be available for 24 hours costing at a 4.50. In a case of emergency, I can offer to contract the tram which will offer services since they are not congested and will move to suburbs and back to the city. This basic means of transport will offer resounding services because of their cost and flexibility. Day: Get to Milan My flight will leave SFO airport at 6pm on November 11th 2013 and am using American Airline as my choice of air services. The plane will make a direct trip from San Francisco to Milan $1,300-2,000 due to non-stop flights or first-class seating: This will be convenient since the plane will land directly to Milan since Milan airport Malpensa can handle large aircrafts. On my arrival I will be expected to clear with tourist information desk to get oriented on vivid portrayal of Milan, basic maps and land marks. Day 4 visit the Castello Sforzesco This place is unique in assisting history learners who want to learn about the ruling families of ancient Milan. This is a unique place to be for students in the discipline of philosophy and history. Booking will not be necessary since I will be visiting during the low season when the building does not attract visitors. Visitors are required to pay 120 dollars for international visitation. In side the building I will visit the archives and get acquitted to graphical information which is more convenient to go through. To save time and money, I will travel on Monday since according to the travel guide most places and tourist destinations are closed on Mondays (Mobile Reference, 2010). I would as well prefer to travel next month taking to bank the autumn weather will be concluded and most city residents are busy either schooling or working. Public grounds will not be congested this offering me a chance to receive good services as shops are either open or the museums and other recreational centers are not congested. I also do not prefer to be in Milan in December since the winter will be a challenging and I cannot personally cope with the loneliness accompanied by a foggy, snowy and rainy weather.
