Zhao in his film Petition, intrepidly and assertively expresses the independency of film creation by plainly showing the in-depth prejudice to petition seekers and even using cameras in the prohibited petition offices (Hjort 50-52). In addition, Lixin Fan’s movie, the Last Train Home explains some of the challenges affecting this group of people earning pittance. This bit of writing compares the two movies by acutely taking into account their content and themes. Zhao seems to be considering the decay of the justice system in China by regarding the bureaucracy in the government system and the dysfunctional nature of the Chinese courts.

The Communist party is believed to be the root of the injustices. The immense majority of petitioners are Chinese citizens who journey long distances from their personal villages to petition against their local government unmerited rulings. Mockingly, the fairness seekers were made to remain for unidentified period for their cases to be acted upon after the cases have also been documented in lots of red tape (Shao 176-179). Furthermore, the victims are seen to be sharing a common goal, which to the highest degree unify them.

The petitioners’ village where the movie begins is a incredibly shanty and untidy place in Beijing that shows the defenselessness of the individuals. The marginalized impartiality seekers’ existence is very dangerous. Corruption is one of the challenges that have led to the unacceptable denial of justice to these group of people who have had unfair rulings with extremely limited options of appealing provided. Although the appellate offices keep records of the petitions, the Beijing appellate offices reduce the chances of appealing by inhumanly hiring the retrievers who are thugs hired to physically inflict the petitioners hence keeping them off from reaching the offices.

The petitioners are hurt or killed in very unfair circumstances to decrease their growing number. Interestingly, the security personnel whose main job was to provide unquestionable security were however largely involved in unacceptable abduction and punishment of petitioners. The movie shows stations where the security officers uncontrollably muzzle and brutalize individuals seeking justice. In fact, some of the petitioners are run over by the train as they run from the security officers. The woman called Qi is among the victims as she is seen suffering with her daughter after the death of Qi’s husband.

The authority that should defend her after her husband’s death mistreats her. In the film, Last Train Home, Lixin Fan portrays the suffering of migrants and the economic impact on their social and personal lives. Every New Year the migrants are seen to be moving back to their countryside in millions to mingle with their families whom they cannot satisfactorily care for given the low income they earn from the industries far away from their homes. New Year was the only period when the immigrants could move back to their rural.

However, these long journeys were accompanied by chaos and brutality, which eventually largely affects the families at long run. The migrants are seen in the film flocking in the train station in Guangzhou ready to travel home (Chan n.p). Zanghua and his wife Cheng are among the migrants’ couples that really toil to provide for their family, which comprises of two children who
