Paradise Now is an ingeniously calculated thriller movie which fixates on the flashpoint where psychology and politics ignite in self-destructive martyrdom. The film, directed by Hany Abu-Assad, an Israeli-born Palestinian, is based on two characters in particular: Said (Kais Nashef) and Khaled (Ali Suliman), best friends from childhood.

Art Deco was the artistic and design movement that took place between the two World Wars (approximately, from 1920 to 1939). It started in Europe (specifically in France) and then moved to the United States, but a dynamic of mutual influences started soon flowing across the Atlantic ocean. Art Deco was the product of a period of wealth.

The story of the film takes place in the 14th century, in an era where a long dispute had emerged on the issue of Apostolic poverty between religious orders of the Roman Catholic Church. The Apostolic poverty is a doctrine that emphasizes Christ’s and the Apostles’ absolute lack of possession.

The idea of a romantic link between the two characters of Lucy and the yellow man would be too much for the 1919 audience to swallow. The movie was also the last of the films which carried integrationist messages. These relationships were depicted as abnormal, unacceptable and impulsive.

In conclusion, I would like to say that I have learnt a lot in this particular course. I have not just learnt to shape vessels and finish them off using different techniques but I have also flourished as an artist. I have been able to develop an understanding of ceramics and the works of prominent artists.

Harvest Moon is typical of Bayefsky’s work; it’s a painting that portrays an eerie night with a full moon hovering over a “haunted house,” jack-o-lanterns and bats. During the 1950s, the auteur theory was coined by a group of French critics.
