Christine Mari Evert as a Leader Leadership is one of the virtues that define the personalities in several perspectives. According to the old adage, “leaders are born but not made”, it is critical to note that leadership is an in-borne virtue that one adopts from the time of birth (Pringle, 2007). Once a born a leader, will be a leader. However much one may want to become a leader, unless he or she possesses leadership qualities, such a person may not realize his or her leadership dreams. In this regard, it is critical to note that there are several leadership qualities that a leader should have. Some of these qualities include honesty, ability to delegate duties, in-depth understanding and humanness (Leatherman, 2008). The virtue of humanness is the most important virtue of all leaders. It is important to understand the difference between a leader and a ruler. A ruler does not necessarily have to be a leader since most rulers have not leadership qualities. Other leadership qualities include the virtue of communication, sense of humor, confidence as well as sense of confidence. Moreover, a good leader should be hardworking, increasingly articulate, creative, as well as have the ability to inspire large groups of people (Pringle, 2007). This virtue makes the people to love such people and long to take part in any activity in which such leaders engage. There are several leaders with good blessed with good virtues of leadership. The qualities of a leader, leadership prowess and expertise are some of the blessings possessed by Christine. The leadership qualities have been depicted in her life as a tennis player, being the best player ever, as well as, contributions to the society. Other than being successful in the tennis game, Christine Evert has also showed that she is one of the best leaders the world could ever have. This is shown in her abilities to give back to the society in order to help uplift he needy. This shows the kind of humane heart possessed by the tennis darling, American born inspiring and charming lady Chris Evert (Magil, 2013). A good leader should always be able to give back to the community. In such an undertaking, such a leader shows that he or she is part and parcel of the community, understands their problems and is ready to do anything necessary to help the society out of the problems. This has been shown by Chris in several ways. For instance, Chris Evert has worked in partnership with The Ounce Prevention Fund for Florida. This has been in the move to make the greater population of substance-abusing mothers to get assistance as well help them accord their children a good start in life (Edelson, 2002). This is one of the leadership achievements relevant to the success made by Christine Evert. Christine Evert was born a winner and a leader. Irrespective of winning titles in tennis matches, Christine has also won people’s hearts. Her inspiring qualities of leadership coupled with her beauty and prowess led to drawing of several people into such matches that Christine played (Christopher and Smith, 2007). This shows that Christine was a good leader. A leader should have the ability to inspire many people. A good leader should also have the qualities that make people just want to be close to her as was the case of Christine. The ability to draw several populations, with love, appreciation and approval, are some of the qualities of a good leader. The shows of commitment, positive attitude as well as confidence are some of the better parts of the character of Christine Evert. She was a committed tennis player. She maintained very positive attitude to her opponents, referees as well as, treated all the decisions made by the referees regardless of the flaws that may have been associated (Christopher and Smith, 2007). She had a big hear for every situation faced, and was very confident in all situations. This shows that Christine has shown good leadership skills, thereby giving a good reputation to women globally. In summary, there are several learnt from the leadership project. First, it has been noted by me that a good leader should possess good qualities that makes the leader fit well to the society. A good leader should be ready to understand the problems of the community. A leader needs to give back to the community and help the society however much they can. Moreover, leaders need to be honest, humane as well as committed to their undertakings.
