Renewable Energy Opportunities Executive Summary The aim of this project is to establish the opportunities that are available to people in using renewable energy. In spite of many advantages of using renewable energy, renewable sources are not fully utilized so far. This project will give existing factors that affect the production of electricity from renewable sources. While there are so many benefits of renewable energy, its production remains to be in small scale and a secondary energy source unlike energy from fossil fuels (Bazia & Abdollah 25). When using the renewable energy sources, there are a few challenges that constrain the exercise. The main challenge that faces the implementation of full exploitation of energy from the renewable sources is that the sources are believed to be varying with seasons. For example, in many parts across the globe, sun and wind are not consistent throughout. It is however recommended that renewable sources can still be used in diversifying energy sources. Introduction The research will be conducted using both primary and secondary sources, whereby, primary research will entail field surveys that will be conducted in areas where solar and wind energy has been used. The main method for data collection during the study using this method is going to be interview and observation. The residents shall be interviewed on the motivation that has made them to invest in renewable energy. Additionally, they will be required to give a list of challenges that they have faced in harvesting energy from renewable sources. Similarly, the researcher will observe to give a report on the possible factors that might have made the region a suitable place to set up energy harvesting plants. Secondly, in secondary resources, the researchers will be required to read from relevant materials that have been researched and recorded by others in the past. The researcher will be able to have enough material in supporting the research topic (Langwith 109). The research is conducted to establish useful measures that can be implemented to increase energy production from secondary sources to reduce overreliance on non renewable sources electricity. The research will create a platform where the researcher will be able to get feedback from the public hence will be able to make informed recommendation about the steps to be taken to improve the situation. Project Background Globally, there have been organizations and institutions that are keen on ensuring the implementation of projects on harvesting energy from sustainable sources. There are organizations that have received international recognition in renewable energy and they include: international Energy Agency among others. This organization supports the use of renewable energy to diversify energy sources (Langwith 112). Motivation Overreliance on non renewable sources is leading to depletion of the resource. Additionally, such sources of energy lead to pollution of environment since global gases are released to the air during combustion. Continued exploitation of fossil fuels to get energy will lead complete depletion of the resource. Use of renewable sources of energy will lead to flexibility in energy provision system and residents will not suffer following failure of energy supply (Bazia & Abdollah 26). Research objective The aim of this research is to establish whether there is a way in which harvesting of energy from renewable sources can be implemented for large scale harvesting of the energy. After carrying out the study, it will be established that it is possible to harvest energy from renewable sources in large scale as an alternative to non renewable energy. Literature review Across the world, the market for renewable energy is growing rapidly. Most people who are focusing in renewable energy are motivated by high prices for oil, climate change due to global warming and support from the governments. Government agencies in many countries are for the idea of investing funds and skills in improving the technology of harvesting energy from renewable sources. Governments have so far formulated policies and laws to govern renewable energy sector in many countries (Da 89). Despite rapid growth of the sector, there have been specific challenges faced by different stakeholders. Firstly, the energy is in inconsistent supply and so far there is no enough storage space for the energy. Secondly, it is expensive to invest in renewable energy; therefore it is difficult to use renewable energy as a substitute for other energy sources. More than 20% of electricity from renewable sources is being supplied and integrated to national grid in European countries. In Germany, the stability of energy supply is attained through integrating energy from renewable sources. It has been concluded that there is never shortage of renewable energy since several renewable energy sources can be used to ensure consistent in energy supply meeting the needs. Energy sources can be used alternatively since when one weather condition prevails, the other one may fail. It has argued out that energy from wind, solar and water, when fully harvested, can result to cost effectiveness in saving on energy demands in many countries (Bazia & Abdollah 32). Research Design The researcher starts the study by carrying out research from primary research. One of the researches will be to survey areas where renewable energy harnessing is popularly practiced. Residents of the area will be interviewed to establish the factors that have favored the success of the energy harnessing in those areas. The interviewees will be required to list some of the challenges they have faced and ways they have been dealing with those challenges. The researcher will then go for secondary sources to gather more information on renewable energy. Common sources will be used during this exercise will be books and internet. The data will then be compiled together for analysis after which details on important and challenges of using renewable energy over non renewable energy will be highlighted (Da 101). Conclusion This research is being conducted to unearth and provide information that is useful in implementing renewable energy harvesting plants worldwide. The information will be useful to investors and organizations that are so keen in ensuring sustainability of natural resources especially the fossil fuels. With proper implementation of technology in renewable energy, this can contribute to around 80% of total electricity globally. United Nations have agreed that renewable energy harvesting can be fully adopted in areas with renewable resources success with minimal challenges. This will make the world to be safer to live in as climatic change catastrophes will be prevented (Da 109). Works cited Baziar, Aliasghar, and Abdollah Kavousi-Fard.
