The researcher has indicated a list of five courses of actions that are to be adopted by the managers of Ben & Jerry’s in order to accomplish the task of successful team building. Out of all the five strategies suggested by the researcher, the most important strategy is that the team members are to be made to realize that the managers have trust on them. The team members are to be given important tasks so that they are able to prove their skills and efficiency in handling challenges. This in turn would help them to develop confidence so that they are able to discuss the issues and find solutions for the problems. It can be considered as the first stage of team building which is much needed in Ben & Jerry’s as the managers have the tendency to dominate on the team members with their own goals. The team members are to be allowed to share their ideas related to organizational development which in likely to affect the growth of the organization. Furthermore, the managers are expected to follow democratic leadership style so that the team members are given equal importance in order to share their views with the managers. The team members are to be encouraged to trust on their colleagues so that the tasks can be equally distributed among them.

Conclusion

The case study on Ben & Jerry’s has discussed the establishment of the company and the issues that the managers have faced while implementing future strategies. There was no particular goal as stated by the Board of Directors and the strategies followed by the employees were in an unplanned manner. This indicated the under-organized system followed in the organization, which needs to be improved and so the researcher has recommended several course of actions to improve the overall growth of the company. The course of actions were to follow Balanced Scorecard Approach so as to develop the company in all aspects. Finally, another strategy suggested by the researcher was to build a relationship of trust between the managers and the team members by allowing them to handle challenges. This in turn would make them confident enough while taking important decisions for the welfare of the company.
