THE INTERNET Starting an e-retail business Peter Kent. Search Engine Optimization For Dummies. New York: For Dummies, 2010. In the United States, more than twenty four million people today, depend on the retail industry as their source of livelihood. This is because retailers will always play the same role regardless of their position around the world. They will set in, in our lives in a very influential manner since they will provide us; me and you, with what I cannot do without in my daily endeavors. They provide services and goods of importance to us all. Since they specialize in catering for everyone, their endeavors realize a lot of money that consequently gives them a better life. This is in the perspective of providing food, home furnishes, electronics, appliances, apparel, auto parts and also skilled labor (Franklin, 234). Books, Timesaver. Paypal in 30 Pages or Less. New York: Timesaver Books , 2003. Apparently, such kinds of aspects were only initially available from a controlled or minute perspective. This is because retailers in the United States were in one way or the other limited to operating within the United States. Today, retailers have an unending exposure to a wide market, not only in their regions, but in every region around the world. All these aspects come hand in hand with the sole source of connectivity in the world, the internet (Darie). Through numerous online banks like PayPal, people can comfortably purchase products online at the comfort of their seats with deliveries coming to someone regardless of their position in the world. The internet has made starting a retail business a very simple and easy endeavor. All one has to do is have internet access and through social sites like face book, retailers advertise their products to the entire world. The ultimate effect is numerous sole proprietorships, which are making young innovative people earn a living with minute effort compared to previous times (Books,102). Darie, Cristian. Beginning PHP and MySQL E-Commerce. Chicago: Apress;, 2008. The Landing page Landing pages are very common with social media, search engines or email campaigns. The landing pages refer to a particular single web page that comes in, in the event of clicking on an online advertisement. In the same perspective, we should understand that the sole purpose if business is the making of profits. That is why advertisements will always be associated with sites that attract many people. These include social sites like tweeter, face book and YouTube. Search engines are always the first notion to anyone using the internet. They provide us with what we think or what we want to know. As a result, Google search engines will always have advertisements linked to its web pages. This is because all these sites possess the targeted audience (Peter,17). In the same perspective, attractive advertisements will be set with the landing page coming in as an intermediary that directs the oriented sales copy, which in reality is just but a mere extension on the advertisement. The landing pages are there to ensure that any advertisement is effective at a mere click. In other words, the landing pages play the role of creating sales leads from any available site visitors (Kent). They give a decision basis on whether a particular advertisement is playing its intended role or not. The landing page will always take the persuasive role in making visitors buy products in an unconscious manner that highly suits the sale of services and products (hamper). Developing Content Content development in the internet perspective refers to the writing, researching, organizing, gathering and the ultimate editing of data and information for website publications. This involves, movies, recordings, pictures, graphics and prose among other digital assets that face transfers by transfer protocol servers in a hypertext perspective all for the convenience of viewing by the ultimate web browser. Apparently, back then at the preliminary or the genesis of the World Wide Web, many web developers had the sole role of developing their own materials and generated the necessary content by using existing content in codes oriented by hypertext markup language (Lierman,229). With time, the internet has continued to generate content such that, the data that has to be amended has gone beyond manageable conditions for web site developers. Innovations and inventions have made everything very difficult in the technological perspective for one to keep at par with the skills on demand. This is in the perspective of documentation, professional writing, multimedia development and graphic designs. Today, incorporation of information in existing or new websites has gone to the extent that, database programming aspects along with script language programming in information technology have come to lose meaning (Lw). Search engines will always look for the never fully available unique and high quality content that has to be developed by web designers. The bulk is ever increasing and the demand at stake today has called for a lot of people to getting employed in a bid to counter the gap, which is already ever increasing. This is a mere depiction of the kind of opportunities that the internet has brought to the entire world (Silverman). Developing Community Community development refers to a wide field of academic disciplines and practices. Such kind of aspects are put into practice by activists, civic leaders, professionals and even citizens all with a sole role of developing and improving the various available perspective of local communities. Apparently, community development has a sole notion of empowering groups of people, individuals and the like by according them with the necessary knowhow in terms of skills or technological advancements that will foresee a change in the initial crude mannerisms of survival in many communities. The first notion oriented at the same is the development of a common people, a wide social group that has undergone the same aspects into developing a common based agenda (Duryee,348). The development of large social institutions has been around for a long time. We no longer have clans or communities today, but we have universities and political parties. Very many people of very different backgrounds have come to realize uniting factors. From what to eat, to the kind of music we listen to, at the end of the day we find ourselves in one large community. Not only in education or politics but even in our communication strategies, mobile phones have made everyone extremely accessible no matter their geographical position (Jr). Social sites have made people in the United States communicate with counterparts in India as though they are next door. Skype has come in with video capabilities that allow for video talks with anyone, anywhere regardless of the time. Employment has taken the same course and we no longer have to drive to offices…at the end of the day, the world has really turned out to becoming a small village, since everyone is part of the large community in a very involving manner (Himanshu). Payment systems Payment systems engross the strategies involved in transferring money that engage cash substitutes. This aspect has foreseen tremendous changes from the initial traditional systems that involved drafts like cheques, which are of negotiable manner along with letters of credit that refer to documentary credits. Such kinds of initial perspectives have been rendered obsolete or crude with the emergence of electronic communication that involves the use of computers. Today we have electronic funds transfers, credit cards, debit cards, direct debits, direct credits but the most recent and influential changes are well oriented on e-commerce payment systems along with internet banking (Books,22). The latter banking systems are involved in providing online transactions with electronic payments. As the internet continues to become a source of everything, so is its popularity in online transactions. The internet connects everyone, everywhere with almost everything we might need; from entertainment, to news, all the way to interacting with friends very far away in the geographical perspective. Thanks to the internet everyone can have a friend in any country despite your religion or color. Of late, online transactions have brought about online employment opportunities. Many innovative and inventive young people are utilizing the same on improving their ways of livelihood (Sofield). For instance essay writing companies are mushrooming everywhere, with young educated but unemployed youths finding convenient employments of unending nature. This is in the perspective of researching, web designing and the like. Others have settled on marketing their products in the internet. The same internet is providing an employment to everyone no matter your qualifications. If you cannot write essays, at least they can sell something; but at the end of the day, online transactions have made the whole scene a rich source of controversy. Online banks like PayPal are always busy, providing payments and depositing money day and night. The internet has just turned out to be a mystery in a very influential manner (Sirovich). Search Engine optimization Search engine optimization involves the processes that determine the webpage visibility in the natural form of a search engine. Sites that appear frequently in search engines do so since they frequently have many users. The searches are of varied nature ranging from academic search, video search, and local search along with image search. The search engine optimization fosters at determining what people will search for most frequently. This is in the perspective of the keywords typed in a search engine along with the most popular search engine among people. Optimization involves many aspects like editing the associated coding, HTML and content in a bid to increase relevance in the specified keywords in search (Emerson). hamper, Martin. The Internet. Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2010. Again, the latter does away with barriers that are widely associated with the indexing perspectives of search engines. The search engine optimization will also act in a manner that will oversee an increase in the number of inbound and back links. Apparently, webmasters have been in an involving quest one that has foreseen the incorporation of irrelevant keywords or excessive latter aspects in stuffing irrelevant pages in a bid to rank search engines (Sirovich). From this perspective, aggressive techniques by companies of such nature were strongly condoned in the AIRWeb conference with heavy penalties being implicated on such kinds of offenders. The penalties were as hefty as website banning altogether (Books,332). The shopping cart Shopping cat software involve aspects of e-commerce software on web servers that give incoming visitors a significant chance to undergo selection of products, all with an eventual perspective of purchasing the latter. The software simply makes it possible for one to comfortably choose from an available online product catalogue. Here, they view and decide before purchasing products at will. The development of such kinds of software became impending since the internet turned to be a mass medium. This involved the launch of web browsers that allowed for significant internet exposure (Franklin). Duryee, Tricia. "All Things." What Does the Future Gamer Look Like? (2012). Many entrepreneurs took advantage of the new opportunity and designed strategies in which they would advertise their products with an ultimate notion of making business. For some time, the scenario seemed dormant until of late when everyone seems to gain interest in the internet. From the information exposure to the varied kinds of entertainment available in the internet, marketing and advertising have become a part of the system in a very natural manner thanks to shopping cart software (Oscar). Digital media Today, the influence of media technology on children is turning out to be catastrophically negative. Unlike old times when parents could control what their children read or what they watched. Today, almost all sorts of materials are at the exposure of every child in a very abundant manner. Talk of explicit material in music, which is just but the order of the day. Movies and unending programs in the numerous available channels have come in with mighty effects (Oscar). Michael, Mr. SEO Made Simple. New York: reateSpace Independent Publishing , 2011. Today more than ever, parents have to deal with violence cases almost every day. At school more and more secondary schools and universities are being burned as demonstrations keep on rising. Pregnancies at tentatively young ages among the youths have become a normality as explicit material is just a finger touch away. Be you on a computer of your mobile phone, it is just matter of writing any dirty word on your search engine and the results are more than significant. We even have top a hundred sites in pornography! Technika." 10 reasons why people use internet (2012). Something that the society says nothing about; but we live day in day out to witnesses the resultant implications. Minute wearing of clothes, with love scenes everywhere along with dirty dancing have just become a norm to us. The internet has a lot of advantages, though the disadvantages might be of equal implications. It’s only that we are loud to speak of the advantages, but very ignorant and good at pretending on the latter; since the bad has become too good to be true, and maybe we don’t want to let go (Lierman,111).
