Assignment 8 Question Action planning involves researching and reviewing action plans after undertaking an action research project. The action research includes planning the action taken after successfully organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data collected. Action planning is, therefore, imperative as it delineates the efforts done by conducting the action research project. However, the main purpose of action planning is understanding the situation investigated during the research and discovering new problems. The other reason for an action plan is discovering an effective plan, institution method or program, modification of the previous plan or program and discovering an ineffective plan or program. After interpreting the data collected, the researcher can contemplate on the situation investigated clearly. The action plan will enable the researcher to understand the phenomenon investigated. Therefore, the researcher will easily present it to the people interested or improve and assess whether they have met or answered question they asked during initialization of action research project. The action plan will also enable the researcher to identify the presence of new problems. When starting an action research project, researchers list the problems available in the situation. After the research, the action plan will help them identify other problems they had not speculated. Action plan is also essential as it helps, especially in the plan or instructional method executed during the research program. Action planning will assist the researcher to assess if the plan executed during the research has resulted as hypothesized or not. Action planning also depicts the ineffective programs if the plans planned during the initialization of the research have not given results as anticipated. Lastly, action planning is important as it helps in modifying the steps used in the research. The researcher will revamp the previous methods in order to achieve better results in future action research projects. Question 2 Professional reflection is essential during action planning. Professional reflection involves quantifying and contemplating on the procedures and results concluded from the action research project. It is, therefore, important for the researcher to reflect professionally after the research project results. Professional reflection enables the researcher to reexamine where the action research has taken them. The researcher will continue with the action plan if it has taken them to where they had predicted. Unfortunately, if the action plan is driving the researchers backward, they should eliminate it. Apparently, not every action plan executed will benefit the researcher; some action plan will disappoint the researchers because they expected different results. Nevertheless, in order to understand the consequence of the action plan the researcher should employ profession reflection. For this reason, profession reflection assists the researcher to reconsider what they have learned during the research. Different researchers conduct research differently. For instance, teachers’ researchers cannot conduct research as engineering researchers. A teacher researcher has two main ways that they should involve when engaging in a reflective practice in an action plan. One on the ways the teachers should involve is, analyzing the effects of the action plan. The action plan can either cause envisioned or unintentional effects. The final decision lies in the teacher’s assumptions. The second way that teacher researchers should involve is the educational matters that arise from information learned from the practice. Question 3 Action plan I have developed is improving learning in schools. The following is what I have learned from the sample in Chapter 6 The first action plan that the researchers involved should take is collecting data for previous learning methods. Checking the student’s results for the previous learning methods is important, as it will enable the preachers to differentiate between the research and previous results. The next action plan is establishing a new lesson timetable. Lesson that most students love should be put during the afternoon. Those that most disliked should be put during morning hours. Another action plan for improving learning is providing adequate time before announcing examination. Announcing early will help the students to prepare themselves academically and psychologically. Teacher researchers should also ensure that examinations cover disciplines students have learned during the semester. Moreover, teacher should encourage classroom teachers to highlight the sections that will be available during the exam. Highlighting the section will minimize the student’s workload. Nevertheless, the teacher should put such action as optional since some teacher prefer when their student read widely. Final action plan for improving learning is balancing gender in classroom group discussion, as it will help in balancing scored between girls and boys. Article 7 Fundamentally, the article explains the events happening when a district school supports an action research. From the author’s point of view, the action research should include more than ten people since the action research covers large areas. Therefore, researchers will collect loads of data that they will not handle it in time. The researchers might also be subject to loss of some or all data since their number is proportional indirect considering the data collected and the number of researchers. From the article, the district school chosen was Madison Metropolitan School District. The author points out that, there were ten staff members discussing the action research project question of the district school. All the ten members were from the district school. The author explains that the increase in the number of principals and teacher from other schools assisted in covering a wide area of the district school. Moreover, teachers added would assist in making the conclusion more concrete as different the facilitators would divide task to different teachers (Caro-Bruce, & McCreadie, 2008). Different teachers and principals executing various tasks would submit concrete conclusions that will help in making the conclusion solid. The author, nevertheless, explain that the teachers and the new members cannot execute the task immediately they join the ten fathers of the action research. The facilitators should conduct an organization program to codify the teachers and divide the task according to their levels of competence. Apparently, the process used to pass information to the teachers and principals is different. The different processes of passing information increase the workload executed by the facilitators. Nevertheless, it is important, as it will help in predicting the action research project results. The different process occurs because the various tasks offered to different teachers have different information. The author explains how, especially the new participants, value the action research project. Ultimately, the participants will have different views since they handled different task. Unfortunately, the author argues that new participants had a hard time while adjusting to the action research (Caro-Bruce, & McCreadie, 2008). However, it was an easy task for the experienced teachers and principals to adjust themselves to the task assigned. In the retrospect examination, the author points out that the way the participants view the action research will determine their level of adjustment and solidity of the results. Finally, the authors explain that most teachers and principals develop skills that are imperative when conducting a classroom action research in the school district.
