 Diversity Matrix Educational resources In a class of diverse students, teachers need to be culturally competent. Lessons should be designed to accommodate students with different cognitive / learning styles in a class have the following characteristics that activate all the three learning styles such as auditory, visual and tactile learning style. The characteristics of these lessons are they have visual aids, auditory stimulus, and exercises for doing some hands-on tasks. In such a class of diverse population it would be better to use visual and tactile learning methods more with these children and once as they develop gradually they can be made to adopt the auditory learning style, and that too if they prefer that learning style. The following are categories of educational resources that are to teachers to use Multi-media files, Audio, Video, Textbook, Graphical representations, Maps, Visuals and Real-time communication. Therefore, the following are Graphical representations (educational) resources are available history for history and geography subjects; 1. Migration Flow Chart (Christensen, and Feis, 38) 2. Weather diagram (Novak, and Canas, 2) Concept Diagram Christensen, Douglas and Feis, Polly 45 4. Computer assisted language learning 5. VOD LITE B. Rationale Migration Flow Chart- This flow chart is complicated for early childhood class pupil to understand. Those with visual impairment will not be able to use this chart, as it requires one to have clear vision to be able to see the chart. However, this chart will be useful to students with learning disabled and hearing impaired as they have visions and chart can be understood easily. Weather diagram- this is a diagram requires who uses his visions well. In creating a visual diagram like this, it is very important that exploration for the development of cognitive learning should be properly considered. In the process presentation the diagram, particular learning stages for young students shall be given attention to; hence assuming a better source of quality education and culture adaptation for the young ones to respond to. The early childhood classroom cannot use this, as they require a developed mind while the vision impaired cannot. Concept Diagram- There are numerous benefits of using the diagram in the hearing impaired, learning disabled, behaviorally challenged, gifted and talented taking into consideration the evident fact that children from all walks of life need to develop visional capacities. This would undoubtedly be an excellent channel to transform their attitudes in the classroom and consequently improve learning. Computer Assisted Language Learning- this is used to teaching language and can only be used by gifted, talents, and language learners. It has huge potential in enhancing language learning, but a knowledge gap still exists. Despite the computer’s pervasiveness in today’s existence, studies that sturdily show its value in teaching language are still few. It is therefore necessary to conduct further research in CALL so that teachers, as agents of change in the students’ life, are guided on using the best means of teaching language. It contributes to knowledge in the data base to close the gap by attempting to measure the effectiveness of CALL in the achievement of 5th-grade language arts students studying grammar, reading, and writing. The interesting part lay in the process and how to learn from it. To be able to apply concepts derived from a carefully conducted empirical viewpoint is a most dynamic way of learning and teaching. VOD LITE - Children with hearing impairment and visionary disabled use VOD LITE. This can only. These children but those with hearing impairment can study language or be gifted and talented. Normal-sighted students learn these life skills incidentally, usually through modeling, but visually impaired students have less opportunity to obtain them trough this kind of learning. Thus, an expanded core curriculum is meant to go beyond the core components of education, such as writing, math and reading. Instead, it is designed to address crucial areas and experiences that are unique to visually impaired individuals. These areas should be taught to visually impaired students to reinforce the core curriculum because they significantly help visually impaired students to cope with their disabilities(Arizona Department of Education, 2).
