The researcher collected primary data for the study through interviews with twelve teachers in four different international schools who participated as the respondents for the study. From the research study, the general conclusion was that citizenship education is important and as such, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government needs to develop a curriculum that is suitable for ensuring the success of citizenship education. Furthermore, it was also proposed by the participants of the study that the government needs to establish and incorporate citizenship education in the curriculum of international schools so that international students can familiarize themselves with the main concepts and topics of citizenship education and the culture of Hong Kong.

As such, it is perceived that the students in these international schools will have a good understanding of the system that they are in and in cases where these students fuse their culture with that of Hong Kong, then successful global and open perspectives will be achieved. With citizenship education, instances of institutional racism can be dealt with. A suitable approach in doing so is by nurturing sensitivity in citizens from an early stage in life to ensure that these students grow up to become sensitive individuals or citizens in the future.

The HKSAR government also needs to ensure that it avoids and deals with instances of pressure from the mainland Chinese government with regard to the curriculum of citizenship education within Hong Kong.Globalization has brought together people from diverse cultures to collaborate on various projects. It offers several opportunities for everyone to take part and apply what they have learned from their education to real-world situations.
