Gun Control How do we control gun violence in the U.S. without violating our constitutional rights? What is the connection with gun violence and school shootings? How do we manage the security of our schools? Does society play a part in the use of firearms (A portable gun) with juveniles (young person)? Since we know that from the start the right to have a gun was structured into three steps i.e. -The Second Amendment allows an individual to have a gun with him/her for the safety at home (Lott, 2010). -The Second Amendment covers every individual, state and each locality in the US. -The scope and limitation of the Second Amendment is the most major task to do. If we ask the same question from advocates then they state that yes we would affirm to have firearms for the self-defense, but would guarantee that a young boy of age 10 would also use the firearm positively. This is the limitation of the Second Amendment. People should understand this as having a gun in your hand on the road in front of White House is not a positive sign. On the other side people claim they have constitutional rights. Yes individuals have got constitutional rights but there is a philosophy behind every rule. Here individuals should use common sense. A framework for gun control should be used as it should also not disturb the constitutional rights of the individuals. In this framework reasonable people should market it i.e. controlling gun violence in the US without violating the constitutional rights (Milite, 2006). The following can be some of the actions to take for controlling gun violence in the US without violating the constitutional rights: Government should ban high capacity guns i.e. those guns which are heavy, or which can easily be loaded. Because people need little bit to defend themselves, but if they have high capacity guns then it can lead to very severe events like innocent people can become their victims In case of worst situations where they are defending themselves and innocent people become their victims. There should be a ban on the assault weapons, these are the dangerous weapons and can cause a lot of danger in the society. These weapons must not be allowed for selling to the general public. It is the need of the time to identify those uncommon guns/ special guns/automatic guns which are not available to the general public for their safety, and in turn some general public are still using these uncommon or special guns. This is a very critical task and it needs a lot of analysis and research by the government and nominating agencies in order to save the US society from such violence. There must be a check and balance on the gun shops about the selling and buying patterns i.e. who buys what? And who sells what? As this would make the situation clearer for the government and it would be easy to take corrective measures once you know the root cause of the problem. There may be backdoor selling which should also be noticed by the government as it can be a big threat. It’s also the responsibility of the state to procure the individuals affected by mental illness. As there may be some individuals who are not in good mental health, and maybe there are cases in which they have rights disputes and they don’t want to settle it in the court, so they are using in their own way, i.e. fighting themselves. It is the prime responsibility of the state to resolve such cases otherwise it can lead to disastrous situations. The debate remains the same. Is the law regarding guns improving the society or it is deteriorating the society. As carrying guns has got significance effects. On the one side it can reduce the attacks. Think of a situation where a killer is killing you and you have a gun with you. This would definitely stop him from attacking you. There is a very clear connection between gun violence and the school shootings. Gun violence seriously is a very severe problem and it is creating a lot of problems for the society and the US Government. School shooting can be caused of many ways or it can have a lot of reasons. One reason is very obvious (Böckler, 2013). There are some youngsters who are very offensive. If someone disturbs them, they feel it, when someone bullies them, they feel. In that case unless and until they don’t take revenge from the other person they won’t feel satisfy. This is one of the major problems. There are many other situations in which individuals kill others because that person has made his relations with his girlfriend worst. This is another alarming situation. The youngsters should be trained to have patience in them. Elders, parents and teachers should give them sincere advices and should teach them. Killing someone has got long term effects. A person killing other can never ever be satisfied. He/she would be ashamed of himself/herself through his/her life. So it’s better to lean now rather acting a fool at such situations. Secondly there are some youths who are being threatened; this is the point which makes them do this huge mistake of killing others. Once your mental health is not proper, then you automatically do this. We can also observe the same situation with drug addicts that once their mental health disturbs then they start getting frustrated and at the end of the day they do go on killing themselves which is a major problem. These problems must be eradicated; otherwise the society would go on disturbing. In United States there are almost 100,000 public schools, and majority of the schools have got guards sitting on the main entrance gates. Here the problem is the entrance one. Why would a young boy/girl carry a gun to the school? Why would a teacher either male/female carry a gum with him/her? These are the questions to be answered. Private school should be allowed to have their guards and security check in of whatever type they wish to. But the government schools should be guarded as per the required standards of the US Government. The security of the school can be managed in a quite simple way. No one would be allowed to have and sort of gum/weapon with him. Students, teachers and all other staffs must be trained about social problems; they must be trained about the long term effects of some steps which we take emotionally. We should think and act rationally. This will improve our lives. All the students, teachers and other staff should be trained on the following for minimizing security risks: Keep yourself safe. This is a cruel world. If you can’t help yourself then nobody would help you, so always keep yourself safe. Assess the situation in your direction. You should be alert in every dark situation. And more importantly using common sense in a difficult situation would help you come out of that situation. So always use common sense. If in school, college you see any danger immediately report the security team/guard/teacher or any other person responsible for the clearance. The schools and colleges with the collaboration of government should establish contingency plans. These plans would include all the risks that may come and the company may face it in the form of anything. So there should be a plan for every contingency. A map should be designed in school or college which should identify the red zone or the area which is prohibited. So if there would be any problem, the security team would be able to identify it at once. If you mark down a place then it becomes really easy to identify it. This would really help in identifying the problematic area. There should be exit routes from the emergency areas. Like there can be two or three emergency routes and all students, teachers and staff are well aware of it. They must be aware of it, if they are not then what the benefit of those emergency routes is. Each school and college should have a counseling programme or a place or area where those students should be cured which are being affected by either bullies of threatening or it can be any other issues. These counseling would help a lot as the affected ones. This programme would be helping them come out of their stage and be normal again. If we don’t cure them at the right time and right place then they would do what people would mental health do. In simple words they would not feel satisfied unless they take their revenge, and the revenge can only be in the form of killing that person. So we must stop that person from doing that act. A youngster with a gun in hand simply means his parents are also involved in his act. It simply means his parents are not able to teach him/her the right lesions. They are not able to understand him/her about the importance of life, about the importance of humanity and being human. Human beings have got great importance. On the same way society is contributing into the boys’ character having the gun with his hand. As the society has forced him/her do this. The society is threatening him. The society is making fun of him. The society is not respecting him. The society wants him to be act like what society wants. These all are the acts of the society due to which a youngster takes a gun with him and do violence. This ultimately makes a point a violence which a person does has got so much to say about reasons and the overall abusive nature of the society. With regard to the above discussion, the government and the Supreme Court should once again sit together and think for the feasible solution to this problem. This would lead both government and the Supreme Court to a better position, and this would in turn create a better society where there would be minimal violence. References Böckler, N.
