The aviation industry has really grown with the industrial revolution, economic growth, and growth in air travel demand. The recent growth in computer technology, innovation of more complicated machines, and the discovery of many energy resources has a contributing factor to the aircraft industry. …

Introduction

Indeed, there are high-tech types of aircrafts in the world that use different forms of energy, improved technology, and carrying many passengers. Nevertheless, there are other factors that affect the operations in the aviation industry that include environmental factors, price of fuel and other aircraft equipment, and the development of more effective and convenient sources of energy (Federal Aviation Administration, 2009). However, this paper will address the issue of fueling different types of aircrafts in different parts of the world and at different environments. More so, the paper will compare all relevant factors that relate to the usage of kerosene, LPG, and LNG in fueling aircrafts. Ideally, powerful piston engines and jet turbines that run aircraft engines require more combustible and complicated engine fuels than other engines including vehicles. Most importantly, the technological development of aircraft fuels and other relevant technological advancements have a huge impact on the engine fuels that aircrafts use today. Indeed, the invention of jet engines propagated a big challenge for engine designers since such engines require fuels that take time to vaporize not like Avgas that turns to gaseous state so easily. ...

Sustainable Energy Resourses vs. Climate Change
As a common knowledge, the existing energy sources in the United States are vital to the economic development and progress. In fact, a significant increase on the demand for energy would mean the need to increase the energy supply coming from different sources of energy. In response to the increasing demand for energy resources, the United States government is spending approximately US$500 billion…
HS2- cost vs benefits
The Government’s base of argument is on the projected forecasts that are unreal. The painful experience gathered from HS1 project is concrete evidence for evaluation of the project. The project will create demand for high-costs and taxpayer-funded transport capacity. The benefits alleged by the Department for Transport remain wanting. BACK GROUND KNOWLEDGE ON HIGH SPEED RAIL The high speed rail…
Green roofs vs Conventional roofs
On the other hand, conventional roofs are the more common type of roofs made of such materials as glass, wood, concrete, and bricks. This paper draws a comparison between the green roofs and the conventional roofs. Types The conventional roof has many types. Types of the conventional roof include but are not limited to the single ply roofs, built-up roofs, metal roofs, and asphalt shingle roofs.…
LNG as Fuel for Aircraft
Conceptual Configuration 1.1 Liquefaction Cycle Liquefaction allows gas to be stored economically. Propane Precooled Multi-Component Refrigerant Cycle (Carson’s Report, pg 221) will be used to create the LNG from the natural gas feed. This process also known as the C3-MR system is used widely in today’s LNG industries. This system uses a multi-component refrigerant, usually nitrogen, methane,…
Engineering vs. Engineering Technology
Engineering technology can be described as being practice-oriented, stressing applications of engineering practice, laboratory experience competencies and engineering design. Looking at these two descriptions, one can note that a potential student will be confused by the overlap in these definitions. Therefore, students end up enrolling in one engineering program only to realize that they wanted…
A Comparasion of Rack Supprted Warehouse vs. Conventional Steel Frame Buildings
Warehouse construction is a flourishing industry and thus requires sophisticated methods of construction to fulfill the requirement. Loading and unloading of goods is required that are stored on pallets which are in turn placed on pallet racks. Cranes and forklifts are used to transport these goods to and from the pallets racks to the transportation vehicles. Conventional steel frame structures…
