Together with other design members, our mandate is to prospect the new coastal highway that connects the Muriwai Beach with Raglan, by Raglan Harbor found on the North Island’s western coast in New Zealand. A bigger section of the highway constructs in environmentally concerned areas found in Waitakere Ranges. Additionally, the highway will be located in Pilha Beach and Bethelis Beach. The beginning point of the highway at Muriwai Beach will be at Oaia Road. The highway will have double bridges at the entrance of Manukau Harbor and at the Waikato River. The two bridges will provide a passage below it. The end of the highway at Raglan will not cross the Raglan labour entrance. Rationale for Project The rationale for the project is to facilitate future development and growth in the two cities that would help to alleviate the traffic congestion. In addition, the project is important due to economic importance to employment and national productivity. The highway will be a linked network of many kilometers of roadways serving the population centers, public transportation facilities, international border crossings, and various intermodal transportation facilities, and the main transportation destinations and serve intercity travel. The highway will represent 4% of New Zealand of public roads, but the highway carries more than 50% of the countries highway traffic and 65% of New Zealand traffic. The highway offers the important nexus to efficiency move the citizens and goods to their respective destinations. The employment base and the industrial base of a region are closely connected to transportation system connection. A good and dependable highway enables business from the City to Hamilton to receive raw materials to facilities of production and transports the finished goods to the city in a manner that is very efficient. Putting up the highway along the Auckland will allow the firms to minimize the transportation costs, which reduces the cost of production and enhances the profits and the productivity levels. Moreover, more reliable and timely deliveries allow the firms along the highway routes to reduce the stationary inventories, thus saving storage expenses and inventory and thus enhance productivity. Collectively, this will translate to higher production for New Zealand as a whole. The competitiveness of New Zealand in the global market depends on the expectation to improve the intermodal connection between the transportation nodes and the highway systems. The economic effects that arise from the connection will produce significance impact on the overall New Zealand economy and the competitiveness of the New Zealand industry. Additionally, the highway investment may lead to levels of employment within the country, as the funds of the public will be detoured from investment options that are less labor intensive to those that support the larger overall employment like the maintenance and construction of the highway. Previous estimates, at the level of New Zealand state suggested a direct relationship between the gains of economic productivity and the infrastructure of the public. The estimates of the effect of the New Zealand on the national output, using the methodology of production function have ranged to marginally negative from the highly positive. A higher extreme show that 10% rise in the public investment will roughly produce a 4% rise in the output of the nation. Various industry studies have tried to find the best of timely transportation and reliable to specific sectors. Therefore, the efficient and reliable transportation network allows companies to generate innovative distribution systems and new management. They will also save the cost of inventories using the just in time techniques of delivery which designs on reducing the inventories while increasing timely delivery and efficient delivery to and from Hamilton and City. The project will also pass the savings on the client as the logistics costs and transportation costs will reduce. Consequently, the people along the highway will access larger labor markets and large input, thus offering a more efficient, creative, and products of high quality. In the manufacturing sector, rapid cost savings and crucial relationship between the infrastructure in transport and public utilities industries, communications, and transportation services, together with the services industries and the retail trade. Substantially, the rationale for the project is to facilitate future development and growth in the two cities that would help to alleviate the traffic congestion. In addition, the project is important due to economic importance to employment and national productivity. Aims and Objectives Transport is a task that is crucial in attaining some other work. Due to the above reason, we affirm that transportation is derived demand. With the rise in population in New Zealand, the transport demand has increased proportionally. The city and Hamilton are connected by a water body, which lacks enough capacity for accommodating the flow of traffic. Because of this, there arises many issued on transportation like traffic congestion, larger travel, larger waiting, and larger transfer time, higher opportunity cost, higher cost, lower passenger’s utility level, and reduced interaction between cities. To overcome the above named issues, new highway needs construction. The demand for the highway is anticipated using the economic theory, gravity model, and land use approach. The land use approach, explains the modality of trips made between various land uses. Every land terrain has its use. The main land is normally used to residential, industrial, commercial, and agriculture purposes. The number of trips arising differs based on the use of land. The gravity model shows the flow of traffic between the two cities with the mass of the population and the distance of the two zones. The economic theory is an approach that is cost base to the demands of travel. These bases on the fact that transportation is a demand that is derived.
