Purpose: To analyse whether global warming is caused by manmade activities or by the sun I. Abstract The exact reasons behind Global warming are still controversial. The debate over how the atmospheric temperature is raising is still going on with different views and opinions II. Introduction A. It is a fact that earth’s atmospheric temperature is increasing. B. Sea level is also increasing. C. Different reasons has been cited for global warming like the manmade activities and solar variations D. It is necessary to find out the exact reasons for global warming for the benefit of living things on earth III. Body – Reasons for global warming other than manmade A. It has been proved by Dr. Solanki that the sun is burning more brightly for the last 1000 years so that temperature of the atmosphere of earth which is one of the receiver of the solar radiations goes on increasing gradually B. It is impossible to cause such a huge atmospheric temperature increase by the increased liberation of carbon dioxide like toxic gases by manmade activities. C. Recent researches proved that global warming problems are there in mars and Jupiter as well which clearly suggests that the reasons are beyond our earth’s limit. D. Instead of reducing carbon dioxide, some scientists believe that we have to increase it for the living thing to sustain their life on earth E. Global warming is a scam made by some selfish people in order to loot the public money for research works. IV. Conclusions A. It has not been proved beyond doubt yet that the increased amount of carbon dioxide alone is causing global warming. B. It is not possible for the atmospheric temperature to raise at such a rapid pace considering the manmade activities alone. C. The changes caused in Sun, probably be the major reason for the atmospheric temperature rise. D. Temperature of other planets was also increasing gradually which clearly shows that our atmospheric temperature rise is also caused by sun alone. V References Abstract Global warming is a controversial topic of the modern word. Environmentalists blame the pollutions caused by the industries and the toxic gases liberated by the automobiles for the increased atmospheric temperature. They believe that the current environmental problems or the global warming issues are entirely manmade alone. On the other hand some other people believe that the atmospheric temperature rise is not due to manmade activities and global warming is a big scam. This paper briefly analyses the global warming topic with respect to reasons other than manmade. Introduction As per the recent studies, the earth’s surface temperature has been increased around 0.750 C during the last century itself. Moreover, scientists believe that the atmospheric temperature may even go up by 6 degrees before the end of the current century (Eilperin). Studies also showed that warming and sea level rise may continue for more than 1000 years even if we manage to stabilize the greenhouse gas levels. Increased global temperature can create dangerous futures for the human being. The consequences of global warming are unimaginable. Sea level raise, increased extreme weather intensities, changes in agricultural yields, complete destruction of some living things etc are some of the immediate difficulties we can anticipate. Even though manmade activities may have some effect, modern scientific theories unanimously agreed that the major reasons for global warming may be natural phenomenon like solar variations and volcanoes. While the world is unanimous in accepting the fact that global warming may cause severe problems to living things, there are different opinions about who contributes to the atmospheric temperature. Reasons for global warming other than manmade “Dr Sami Solanki, the director of the renowned Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Gottingen, Germany, who led the research, said: "The Sun has been at its strongest over the past 60 years and may now be affecting global temperatures” (The Global Warming Scam). The intensity of radiations received on earth from the sun has been increased drastically as per the studies conducted by Dr. Solanki. He has proved that the sun is burning more brightly for the last 1000 years so that temperature of the atmosphere of earth which is one of the receiver of the solar radiations goes on increasing gradually. Unexpected natural calamities and atmospheric behaviours forced scientists to think in terms of global warming problems caused by the manmade activities. Increased amount of flood, the sea level rise and the melting of huge ice blocks from the arctic and Antarctic pole regions forced scientists to look for the reasons on earth alone. Plants which are supposed to be the absorbers of carbon dioxide gas, has been destroyed by heavy industrialization which contributed to the increase in atmospheric temperature as per the environmentalists. But they were confused by the fact that how manmade activities or the liberation of Co2 like toxic gases can contribute to such huge increase in atmospheric temperature. The above confusions forced scientists to look beyond the limits of earth for the reasons of our atmospheric temperature rise. Recent researches have proved that the global warming problems and ice melting are not confined to the boundaries of earth alone. “Global warming and melting polar ice caps are not just problems here on Earth. Mars is facing similar global changes, researchers say, with temperatures across the red planet rising by around 0.65 degrees over the last few decades” (The Global Warming Scam). How Mars like a planet, which might not have human population or any other living things is facing the global warming problems if it is made by the human activities alone. Moreover, further studies have shown that the number of sunspots increased over the last 4 or 5 decades and hence the atmosphere also started to become warmer. The above observations clearly show that the actual culprit for global warming is not on earth, but outside the limits of earth. NASA has recently proved that Jupiter’s climate is also undergoing drastic changes. “Now, Jupiter has a third red spot, again produced from a smaller whitish storm. ... Jupiter's recent outbreak of red spots is likely related to large scale climate change as the gas giant planet is getting warmer near the equator [NASA]” (The Global Warming Scam). It should be remembered that in Jupiter also, the presence of living things has not been proved yet. Jupiter is getting energy from only one source which is the sun and hence any variations in Jupiter activities should be caused by the sun alone rather than anything else. “Only .117% of atmospheric carbon dioxide is directly attributable to human technology such as automobiles” (The Global Warming Scam). There is a limit for such small amount of carbon dioxide can cause to atmospheric temperature rise. But actual rate of increase in atmospheric temperature has shown that such a small amount of increase in Carbon dioxide may not have that much effect as claimed by the environmentalists. On the other hand, some scientists believe that we have to increase the volume of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in order to sustain the life on earth. “There has been a long-term reduction of CO2 throughout the 4.5-billion-year history of the Earth. If this tendency continues, eventually our planet may become as lifeless as Mars. Instead of reducing CO2, we should, perhaps, be increasing it” (Kelly, 2005). Like all other gases on our atmosphere, CO2 is also an essential component of atmosphere in order to sustain life on earth. The value of atmospheric CO2 should remain almost constant in order to make our earth suitable for living things. Any increase or decrease of content of CO2 on atmosphere may adversely affect the living things on earth. If the above findings are true, instead of trying to reduce CO2, we have to look for options to increase it on atmosphere. It is necessary for some selfish people to keep the global warming issue under the lime light always. Governments are spending millions of dollars to research about the reasons and solutions for global warming.“Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create an illusion of rapid global warming” (D’Aleo, 2007). They did so to rob the money in the label of global warming. The exaggerated statistics about global warming will force the governments to spend more and more money which would directly into the pockets of these scientists. ‘On the other hand, more than 17,000 scientists have signed a petition circulated by the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine saying, in part, “there is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate” (Bast, 2003). Conclusions It has not been proved beyond doubt yet that the increased amount of carbon dioxide alone is causing global warming. It is not possible for the atmospheric temperature to raise at such a rapid pace when considering the manmade activities and subsequent toxic gases liberation alone. The changes caused in Sun, probably be the major reason for the atmospheric temperature rise. Some scientific researches have shown that the temperature of other planets was also increasing gradually which clearly shows that our atmospheric temperature rise is also caused by sun alone.
