The important area of concentration in this research is human resources management as revealed by the nature of organisational culture embraced by ASDA.This study investigates the possibility of poor human resources management leading ASDA to a global financial crisis, considering the fact that poor working habits at ASDA’s credit facility section could ignite a global financial meltdown. As a matter of fact, key issues about human resources management are raised and subsequent explanations are provided using concrete facts from both qualitative and qualitative research approaches. 1.2 Research RationaleThe rationale behind this research is to present how poor human resources management at ASDA could lead to a widespread global financial crisis.

In other words, this study is strictly considering the effect of organisational culture, good or bad, on the probability of a financial institution like ASDA entering into a financial crisis that could be extended to other parts of the world.Interestingly, this research utilizes both quantitative and qualitative methodology in order to detect the extent of the possibility of poor human resources management causing a giant credit operator like ASDA to collapse under a global financial meltdown.

Hence, the hypothesis to be tested in this paper is that inadequate or poor human resources management through bad or unreformed organisational culture can eventually lead ASDA into a depressing financial mess as far as its domestic credit-issuing facility is concerned. Incidentally, this research reveals, in convincing terms, that ASDA may be plunged into a crippling financial problem owing to the poor handling of its human capital. There are ample examples of financial institutions that have been brought down into messy financial problems due to their shallow or weak organisation cultures.

For instance, Lehman Brothers. So, could ASDA escape a crippling financial crisis due to poor human resources management caused by uncoordinated organisational culture? This research provides a comprehensive response to this important but quite problematic question.
