The 1807 abolition of slave trafficking into the US marked a great step in defining the future of the Africans who would often find their way to America as slaves. The abolition also allowed the slaves to settle there and this marks the main origin of African Americans although scores of other Africans have later settled in the US intentionally, or as the law allows either in search of employment opportunities, education, as refugees, or peeking asylum or for such other reasons as. There is however a disparity that is pointed out between the native African Americans especially those who are citizens by birth and the immigrants.

History depicts a ‘bad’ past for the African Americans who faced among other things prejudice from the whites based on their skin color. In fact, despite having rightfully settled and acquired American citizenship, history shows how all discrimination has been a feature in the country. The discrimination and or treatment accorded to the African Americans by the white would be based on identity. However, great changes have been witnessed with great persons of African origin rising to heights of influence in the nation with the most current being the president. This shows a great evolution with the African Americans now actively participating merely in all aspects of life and politics being the most influential. The African American identity has slowly gained acceptance among the whites in the country hence explaining even the policy frameworks that allow even new immigrants of African origin to get and settle within the American soils. Vesely points out that the second wave of African migration into the US after 199the 0s have overtaken by number the number of African American natives already settled in the S. This has therefore been studied and shown to have produced a concern where the African American nation feels threatened by the immigrants and thus developing a bad attitude towards them. The empowerment of the majority of Africans through education has seen many secure employment opportunities and moving into the US for career development. The mass migration has raised sharp critiques across the board with analysts pointing towards increased compromise on the African culture because of westernization. With mass movement of persons from Africa into America, native cultures are diluted, and many end up upholding the western cultures.  This has been pointed out as a major cause of cultural conflict between the native African American citizens there and the immigrating Africans where the natives would always feel superior for having already been indulged into the western cultures as compared to the ‘newcomers’. Other conflicts have been explained by the fact that the majority of the immigrants who go to the US for employment are accorded highly paying jobs than their counterparts the natives. The conflict, therefore, rises from the preconceptions that the natives are better than the immigrants are, but this fails to hold in experiences and expertise.
