The paper “Bonds between Job Ambiguity in the Workplace and Its Effect on Job Satisfaction and Performance” is a brilliant example of the human resources thesis. "Everything has changed, except our way of thinking." (Workplace of the Future," 1993,p. 2.) These are the words of the great mind, Albert Einstein, and they shall form a backdrop to what this thesis is about. It is true that everything has changed nowadays. In fact, change has been the only constant in this world where so many other things have been going through different degrees of reform or actual extinction.

While the changes have occurred in all manner or form, this paper shall only deal with the changes that have had an impact on businesses, especially when those changes share a relationship with job-related ambiguity. The effect of these changes on job satisfaction and motivation is also of particular interest and shall also be noted. Types of change in companies-a general viewIn today's world, so many changes have been occurring in the business world. Some of the changes are a direct result of globalization, restructuring as well as downsizing of companies.

As the economies of the world shift in nature to respond to economic downturns such as the collapse of the US economy in the early 2000s and economic growth such as the one that is currently being experienced by China, companies, along with their employees, have to learn to adapt quickly and frequently to these changes. Change occurs in all sorts of form and manner, each with its own degree of relevancy. This paper shall deal with some of these changes. The three of them are indeed different, but nonetheless interrelated, forms of change, and each and every one of them is of particular note as they all influence and invoke the feelings of satisfaction and motivation employees have for their work.

The first form of these changes includes those that affect people, be they employed directly by a company or indirectly by virtue of being a distributor or marketer of the goods and services provided by an organization. Personnel itself may be subject to change with recruitment and resignation being a part of the company.
