Discussion on expected outcomes

From the research, we expect to get the following factors that motivate the top management teams of both organisations

Payment

Different things motivate a top management team. They all have some variance that motivates them (Cadwallader, et al. 2010). It is wise to have in mind that money is not necessarily the best motivator but lack of the money acts as a demotivator hence the top teams are well paid for their services and positions.

Working environment

The top management team should have the best working environment so that they can be able to delegate duties to junior staff. Also, the right environment gives them a peace of mind such that they can be able to formulate strategies that will propel the company forward (Muogbo, 2013). The right environment also reduces stress and gives them the right breathing space and acts as a good motivator.

Tangible results

Most teams are motivated by work that leads to physical evidence of their work. The get motivated to work harder even for better results. Result born out of motivation or a new idea are their greatest motivators for their efforts can be seen (Cadwallader, et al. 2010). Tangible results are their fruits of labour which they are proud of and add the degree of motivation in them.

Decision making

An individual does not do decision making but the whole team The fact that everyone is involved in making such decisions, it gives them the motivation to abide by the decisions settled on and create the right response to issues and problems as a team.

Values and beliefs

The top management team will feel at home if their work coincides with their values and beliefs. It makes them work harder for they know that they are working for will help them at a personal level. Also, the alignment of Values and beliefs is a wonderful motivator of the team more especially at individual levels (Cadwallader, et al. 221).

Utilisation of abilities

Having each member of the team work in their specialised to their full potential motivates them to work and bring forth results. Managers like working to their full potential so that their skills can be exposed as well as get the right working experience thus making his field of specialisation perfect (Muogbo, 2013).

It is from these factors that a strategic incentive mechanism will be developed. The above factors are clear on what motivates the top management team thus creating a basis for the development of the incentive mechanisms. Incentive mechanism is meant to help any management develop their unique methods of remuneration that fits their organisation capabilities and performance.
