The paper "The Correlation between Emotional Intelligence and Graduate Employability" is an excellent example of a dissertation on human resources. The development of the economy and the fast-moving lifestyle over the past few years has created an overly intense vocational competition. The only way for graduates to succeed is to improve their competitive advantage because it is impossible to change the trend of the increasing competition in the labor market. Thus, in order for the university students searching for jobs to land a good position in employment, it is important that they improve on their individual employability.

The research report will assess this process to establish how great that EI affects undergraduates’ employability, focusing on the use of an EI and employability competency framework as well as the use of appraisal centers from business and engineering students’ perspectives. The research will also concentrate on associated costs and improve on this topic for the future in terms of constant change in the EI and undergraduates' employability sector.

Using this Pearson correlation and the literature reviewed the study determines that the influence of emotional intelligence on employability of business undergraduate students is higher than its influence on the employability of engineering undergraduate students.

1         Introduction

1.1  Background and Context

The development of the economy and the fast-moving lifestyle over the past few years has created an overly intense vocational competition. The only way for graduates to succeed is to improve their competitive advantage because it is impossible to change the trend of the increasing competition in the labor market.

Thus, in order for the university students searching for jobs to land a good position in employment, it is important that they improve on their individual employability. On the other hand, employers complain that it is hard to recruit competent graduate employees nowadays. They state that graduates generally lack employability. It is the universities’ responsibility to increase the employability of their students.
