? Case Study Agile Methodology in Sapient Give Your Opinion on the Reasons Why Sapient Developed its Own Agile Methodology Sapient has developed its own methodology due to various reasons. The primary reason for developing the agile methodology was to remain competitive in the modern business environment. The company wanted to create all round diversity pertaining to make all round advancement in delivering its services in an effective manner. Additionally, the company also wanted to define the user requirements and planned to build mission-critical IT solutions that can be effectively and successfully utilized to meet the broad requirements in a stipulated-time along with fixed-price. Sapient also developed its methodology i.e. Sapient | Approach to provide aid to the Department of the Navy and also for determining its usage in the fusion workshops. All these activities were aimed to define the broad user requirements for different functional set of stakeholders. Most importantly, the company wanted to improve its functional processes so that the needs and requirements of different set of customers can be met. Furthermore, in order to act as a medium of solution provider to the different users of technology, the company has developed the agile methodology. Also, the broad reason behind the company developing the particular methodology was to create a greater amount of clientele base in the global scale. In addition, the company also wanted to improve its business tactics combined with saturation of its marketing activities. By analyzing all these aspects, it is felt that the company wanted to channelize its operational activities for the sole purpose of delivering effective customer services and for earning high amounts of profits thereby fostering overall development and growth (Sapient Corporation, 2013; Cobb, 2011). Assess The Business Benefits and Challenges of Sapient’s Agile Methodology In relation to the differentiated aspects of development related to the agile methodology of Sapient | Approach, there are high amount of benefits that can be sought by a business as compared to challenges that may arise. There are various long term and short term benefits that can be achieved throughout the process of an agile life cycle (Sapient Corporation, 2013). On further observations, it has been ascertained that by developing the advanced technological advancement i.e. agile methodology, the company will be able to create a high level of competitive advantage in relation to the overall technological landscape. Other benefits will comprise of high level technicality, which is bound to arrive by introducing the new and improved technological software. In addition, other long term benefits will comprise of creating of brand image and goodwill amidst customers. In this context, the consumers get fascinated by those companies, which continuously engage themselves in innovating latest designed products and engaging in the manufacture of the products and the services. However, with such innovations the company may also have to face certain challenges pertaining to cut throat competition. In the technological environment, companies usually go by those marketing strategies that are adopted by each other. Therefore, other companies will definitely adopt similar technologies and may provide suitable amount of competition to Sapient. In addition, there may be instances in which other companies may come up with extended features in their products. These types of instances can very well prove to provide Sapient with high amount of challenges (Sapient Corporation, 2013; Cobb, 2011). Identify At Least Three (3) Requirements Needed before Implementing Sapient’s Agile Methodology for its Internal and External Customers. Provide Your Rationale For the implementation of such reliable methodology for its internal and external customers, there are certain requirements to be adhered by the company. As per the above learning’s it is clear that Sapient | Approach is a high end methodology, which is capable of serving multiple users for broad business purposes. In order to fulfill the requirements for implementing the company’s agile methodology for the external and the internal customers inculcates three requirements provided hereunder: Firstly, technical architecture is required at all levels for proper development of the methodology. High end technical assistance will enable the development of Sapient | Approach in an extended manner (Sapient Corporation, 2013; Cobb, 2011). Secondly, for proper implementation of the particular methodology, there is a high amount of requirement for proper management of the configuration features of the particular methodology in the management. The company needs to ensure appropriate facilities so that the methodology is compatible enough for getting configured with any of the system of the organization. This way it will benefit Sapient for becoming compatible enough in the modern technological environment and will also provide great aid to the company in meeting up with the expectations of internal and external customers (Sapient Corporation, 2013; Cobb, 2011). Another broad requirement would include the necessity of proper traceability of all those activities pertaining to maintenance and development of the particular methodology. Ensuring traceability is of utmost importance as it helps in keeping tracks of all the important activities prevailing within an organization. The company needs to trace all the responses of the consumers concerning with the introduction of a new methodology. And based on this particular aspect of the company, it will be able to fulfill and meet up the requirements of both the internal and external customers (Sapient Corporation, 2013; Cobb, 2011). Thus compliance with all these broad requirements will enable the company to follow an agile development approach and will also lead to completion of broad business requirements. Suggest At Least Two (2) Potential Improvement Opportunities in Sapient’s Agile Methodology Based on the above evaluations, Sapient’s Agile Methodology is considered to be the most reliable methodologies that can be effectively utilized for serving both the internal and external customers. Sapient | Approach inculcate advanced features, which represents broad values, effective practices and principles. If certain potential opportunities are provided for development of this particular methodology, then innovations pertaining to the wide distribution of the methodology can be assured. For this purpose, the company needs to create a wide reach of the particular methodology by way of spreading product awareness to the consumers in an appropriate manner. This aspect would prove to quite fruitful to the company as the methodology is the latest creation of the company and by way of providing proper awareness regarding the product, it will lead to long term improvement. Another potential improvement opportunity, which the company can adapt, is by ensuring appropriate risk management facilities in relation to the implementation of the methodology in a global scale. There always lays a risk of potential competitors that can pose variable amount of competition along with sustainable risks to the company. Sapient needs to consider this particular aspect and needs to formulate measures pertaining to risks that may arise in the business. The company can however control the risks by formulating various risk assessment techniques namely: Business forecasting and Competitor analysis among others, which will enable it to sustain with the global competitive market scenario (Sapient Corporation, 2013; Cobb, 2011). Describe a Non-Agile Alternative That Sapient Could Have Considered Technologies and latest methodologies comprising the agile features that pose high amount of importance in the overall technological along with business environment. And based on the analysis of Sapient | Approach, it has been duly recognized that this particular methodology has been designed by way of analyzing the broad principles, effective practices and values of a technological environment. Also, Sapient | Approach serves maximum amount of clientele satisfaction to a larger extent. However, if the company wanted to consider a non-agile alternative in place of Sapient | Approach then the company would have adapted another advanced methodology, which involved less amount of costs. Furthermore, the company might have introduced high end business software, which can provide integrated results. In relation to the development of an alternative methodology, the company could also have considered those aspects, which pertains to the basic features of the product. For instance, approaches which are feature-driven could have resulted in providing suitable options to the company while selecting alternatives pertaining to Sapient | Approach as it would have enabled the company to remain competitive in the market (Sapient Corporation, 2013; Cobb, 2011).
