no. Management of information Systems The Google Inc. is an American company that provides mainly internet search engine. Sergery Brin and Larry Page founded it in 1998 while still Stanford University PH.D. Students. It documented that nearly over 70 percent of the world’s online search requests usually pass through Google search engine (Rezaul 41). Therefore, the Google managers the largest internet users globally. The company started its services with only 50 internet products and services including online document creation software specifically for tablet computers and mobile phones (Scott 44). Despite being initiated as an internet service provider, the Google’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility led it to expand its services in areas including selling of the mobile phone hardware. Notably, with the 2012 acquisition of the Motorola among other acquisition and service expansions, Google’s portfolio has grown since its incorporation until now. The growth as made it to be among the fourth top influential companies within the high tech marketplace. Google Inc. is renowned for designing and developing new products along its product and service lines since its interception (Tan, Payton, and Tan 217). Its top management notes that the company intends to release even more new services and products in the market; therefore, Google is still anticipated to grow in portfolio in the future especially along its intended new products and services. Google has been known to peg its immense technology in Silicon Valley that it has since manipulated to its advantage. For example, Google has been using the silicon technology to create antivirus towards protecting its online contents. Facebook had attracted nearly 200 million users within two years of its operation. The number has increased to nearly 1.4 billion users with smartphones attracting over 1.6 billion users (Tan, Payton, and Tan 203). The users of these services and products are expected to grow thereby expelling Google to improve its services and products to cater for the growing demand. Some of the additional new internet technology services that Google has since developed for global use include the Twitter that is currently used as both social and corporate communication platform (Scott 84). Despites the numerous steps that have been made by Google, in both technology and service delivery, some analysts are not certain of Google’s future. However, the Google team still insist that they have numerous service and products that they intend to give to the market. To remain in the market, Google has promised to be flexible and innovative as well as embracing diversity in the products and services that it deliver. For example, it has initiated the redesign Mountain View campuses to incorporate other services deliveries as well as being a means of opening its mirror to flexible approach to technology. These expansions are aimed at increasing experimentations of it new products and technology supported services 9 OGrady 88). With same understanding, Google is currently testing the Google wave and Google Helpout products. These tests of these products aims at understanding their effectiveness for the intended markets. The tests also main at identifying areas of these products that need to be improved towards increasing future competitive advantage of Google above other companies offering same services or products. In the same experimental campuses in the Google X that is in Google’s, research lab that is meant for future consumption by the Google customers. Additionally, the future on Google is pegged on the innovations of its engineers who are encouraged to be conducting individual projects with the aim of improving on the existing products and services or initiating completely different products and/or services (Tan, Payton, and Tan 96). Notably, some of the Google products and/or services that have been achieved through this involvement include AdSense and Gmail. Therefore, Google has remain investing on its engineers with the hope that they will lead the company into new products and services to enable the company command the market as it does now (Rezaul 60). For instance, the Google Company through its engineers are on experiment aimed at realizing it theoretical 1Gbps dreams from the current 200 Mbps that is considered to be the current high speed bandwidth that it operates. Moreover, Google aims at enabling effective interaction between short range and high-speed wireless connects with Google Fiber. These improvements of speed in data transfers are aimed at the effectiveness and efficiency through which internet users send and receive data (Frazel 37). That is, Google aims at increasing the data transfer speeds in the future. In so doing, they are currently experimenting the applicability of the high-speed bandwidths particularly of between 81 GHz and 86 GHz. Finally, with the Google’s experimental and innovative ideas, Google is planning to transmit it data through wireless means transition platform that has prompted it to secure radio spectra (Scott 98). Through this plan, since 2007, Google had started acquiring these spectra where it got into bidding partnership with such operator that sliced a 700MHz spectrum. Other than being viewed as Google’s expansion plan, the acquisition of radio spectra by Google can be considered as a strategy to remain in the market following looming future wearing of technology related services and products that the company invest on currently. The company also intend to seal its future through smart acquisitions. Google has since developed a practice of acquiring products and services from other companies. For instance, in 2005 it acquired Android so it may be influential in mobile market. In the year 2006, it acquired YouTube so that it could demand larger internet communication, entertainment, and social media. Additionally, in the acquired products and services have turned productive to the Google business (OGrady 57). In fact, Android has become the widely used mobile phones’ operating system in the world while YouTube has become the widely used platform to mobile advertising market, and Google has employed its expertise in making Nest the leading for home automations. Therefore, with these successes, Google is prepared to use it already enormous revenue in the future to acquire products and/or services that would boost its viability and sustainability in the market. Finally, Google has cited the plan to modify some of its current products and services for the future market. Notably, Google is concentrating in the modification of it Google glass. Notably, the prototype to this product received a lot of criticism, ridicule, and contrivances (Frazel 133). Many people were worried on their privacy could the glass be put into use while others were concerned with it design. It should be noted that this glass received these negative reception despite being in its experimental stage. Therefore, following the negative reception and criticisms, Google has decided to correct all the areas of concerns of the glass so that it can release to the market in the future. Hence, Google glass remains a future product of Google (Tan, Payton, and Tan165). The same advancement on the existing products also aim certain cervices including the future plans to change Google’s mode of data transfers including increasing the speed and modes of these transfers. Despite putting different mechanisms and plans to seal its future in the communication and technology fields, Google’s future is not that certainly positive. The products and services relating to the internet and technology are changing at a very faster rate that if a player within this sector do not adjust effective and swiftly, it may be overtaken by events and time. Google seems not to be have adept innovative, development, and design teams; hence, they peg their strength in acquisition. Therefore, if it remains with this strategy, despite its’ portfolio size and revenue, its business may diminish slowly since the companies it may intend to seek acquisitions fail to sell the same (Scott 145).
