IT Management Name Institution Abstract The increased use of information technology in increasing business performance and management of information system, many companies have adopted resource planning systems that are crucial in managing information technology infrastructures. This paper focuses on the management of information technology system in supply chain management, planning processes and increasing business performance in Google Inc. Google Inc use the online retail supply chain management, which is managed to use cloud computing based enterprise resource planning. The SaaSt ERP is discussed as one of the resource planning tools used by Google in its online business processes and management of online applications for its customers. The information system management approaches are also discussed. Google uses the Google apps integration and Google project planning software which is all integrated with the enterprise resource planning, Google Apps Marketplace in the management and planning of Google information systems. Introduction The increased demand for information technology use in the business organizations has resulted in information technology management systems in various companies. The IT managements systems used in various companies are aimed at helping the companies that are dealing with information technologies to provide their services in a fast and convenient way (Bradley, 2008). The management of information technology systems used by Google Inc is aimed at ensuring that the information technology infrastructure in the company is able to support the new changes in the business (Duthel, 2008). The ability this information system in adoption of the new changes is to make sure that Google is able to adapt to changes in consumer needs and the needs of the business. Google has incorporated a variety of information management systems that are important in managing the information technology infrastructure in order to market its products (Morel et al., 2011). The use of enterprise recourse planning at Google Inc. has been employed in the supply chain management, resource planning and process of information technology. Google has adopted and utilized the cloud computing system which is an emerging trends ion the information technology in managing various infrastructure that are crucial in delivering services to customers through the internet. The increased need for information technology management systems in online business for Google Inc is to ensure that the company is able to manage the client’s server and the endpoints, automate all the systems in supply chain and information system planning as well as reducing the cost and time used in assisting consumers to meet their needs. This paper explores the information technology management system used by Google Company and how the approaches are increasing the adoption of new technologies in increasing the performance of the firm (Yizeng et al., 2011). 2. Enterprise System These are information technology software that is useful in the management of IT processes in a company. In most cases, these enterprise systems are used in the supply chain management, resource planning of the company and management of this software in order to ensure customer satisfaction. 2.1 The Google Supply Chain Management The information driven supply chain in Google enables the company to market its products using a pool of networks in the internet. Google has formed alliances with other technology companies such as HTC and T-Mobile in the supply chain in order to distribute its products. However, recent developments have seen Google takes the supply chain from partners into online retail channels. With the development of online commerce and cloud computing networks, it is now possible for Google to market its products in the online retail channels. This means that all the logistics and merchandise operations are taken care by Google. This is because Google has devised a variety of mapping software, which is able to give details of the various market places and the supply chain. Additionally, with the mapping systems, it is possible to map shipment and factors that are likely to affect the supply chain. Therefore, Google utilizes the electronic supply chain management system which is ecosystem friendly and effectively (Yizeng et al., 2011). 2.2 Enterprise Resource Planning The enterprise resource planning at Google Inc. is based on the cloud computing. This is because most of its infrastructure and business managements are conducted online using the Google application marketplace. The integration of infrastructure and changing consumer needs are becoming a common thing in the search engine company. Google uses the Google App Marketplace enterprise resource planning in managing information in its external and business activities. This resource enterprise is based on electronic marketing of the Google products as well as storing the application in online databases. The Google Apps Marketplace allows various administrators from a different organization to browse, buy applications, and pay for the application using online systems, which are integrated in the online clouding business application. In addition, the Google Apps Marketplace acts as an alliance of Google applications where customers are able to access them. With the Google Apps Marketplace, Google Inc. is able to manage its supply chain management, secure its data and improve customer relations in the company. Hence Google Company uses a variety of enterprise resource planning including g the SaaSt ERP which a cloud is computing based ERP. This resource planning application allows Google to manage its data, generate online invoices and financial statements using the cloud based enterprise resource planning system (Morel et al., 2011). 2.3 Document Management and Network Management Google Company has generated a variety of Google applications, which maintain and share document online (Morel et al., 2011). These applications are integrated in the enterprise resource management systems which are able to use cloud computing in the sharing and management of Google documents. For example, the Google apps marketplace incorporates the Box.net which allows customers to create, maintain and share files to anyone who is connected to the cloud servers. Other applications used in the management of Google documents include Text Flow and Memeo Connect 2 (Duthel, 2008). 3. IT planning The planning of information technology systems and projects used by Google is incorporated in the enterprise resource planning system, the Google apps marketplace (Bradley, 2008). This implies that all Google applications such as Google documents, Gmail, Google calendar and Google spreadsheets. These are able to manage the Google information technology projects using cloud computing applications. In the process of information technology planning, Google Inc. forms alliances with other companies in order to incorporate its applications. The planning process considers the implication of the information systems and preferences of the customers. The information management approach used is based on the people analytic approach and digital data based information system approaches in planning their information system projects (Yizeng et al., 2011). 4. Conclusion The management of information technology systems in a company requires a good understanding of resources and infrastructure involved in the management process. The management of information technology at Google Inc. uses the cloud computing technology in maintaining its data and application. This allows the company to adopt enterprise resource planning systems such as SaaSt which allows the company to maintain online data accounts for its customer sell online application and make payments through the use of an online retail supply chain management system. This system is integrated into the enterprise system in order tothe management of the information system easier and efficient. Additionally, Google used the Google Apps marketplace in its electronic cloud computing to distribute, plan and maintain its information technology systems.
