Within only a few years, a huge number of workers and laborers have entered the country. Abu Dhabi is one of the major Emirates in the country that has a high labor force. Mussafah is the major industrial area in Abu Dhabi. Most of the laborers are living in Mussafah in Abu Dhabi. However, the records show that there is an increasing number of the crimes in this area. Al Mussafah has its own conditions and environment. In this research paper, an investigation of the causes of crimes in Al Mussafah is conducted in addition to investigate the planning interventions that can be done to address the causes of crime in Al Mussafah.

This research paper has great importance and it will have a vital contribution in solving the problem of the high crime level in Al Mussafah. This study will be a rich source for identifying the causes of crimes in low-wage areas such as Al Mussafah in addition to find the most appropriate solutions on how to interfere with urban planning effectively in addressing the causes of crime in Al Mussafah. Living conditions in the low-wage neighborhoods are in most cases persistently appalling. People living in such areas become quite unpromising due to the poor living conditions (Meghir, 2000).

The living conditions in low-income areas are quite difficult. The infrastructure is usually very poor in the area. The road network is quite deprived and repairs are never done to the roads. The people have also encroached on the road reserves making it quite difficult for the authorities to develop the roads. The homes that are connected with electricity are also quite a few. The garbage is not dumped in a proper manner making the areas quite poor in terms of waste disposal. Most people live in temporary shelters that are prone to destruction by adverse weather conditions.

The planning in the area is also quite poor and the houses are built randomly. This makes the areas with low-income earners quite congested.
