It has an APS-C crop sensor type. This sensor size allows the camera to take a tighter field of view as compared to the full size sensors. This sensor size is suitable for telephoto photography (Laing). Compared to full size sensors, these sensors produce lower quality photos. Similarly, they are a bit cheaper than the full size sensors. The camera has a shutter speed of 1/8000 to 30 seconds. The shutter has electronic control that facilitates synchronization of the shutter. The high speed for this camera facilitates clarity and reduces blurredness of the image. Experienced photographers must work with other modes to guarantee superior photos. Price The launch of Nikon D7000 was the culmination heightened competition amongst other key players in the field of photography. The D7000 model was viewed by some people as a perfect replacement of D300s. This is because the camera had almost all the basic features of the D300s model plus new technologies inclusive. Some of the close competitors to this model include the models from Canon Company. The closest competitor from Canon is the Canon 7D. The Canon model has the best resolution and the frame rate. There are many features between the two models that are competitive in nature. It makes it quite difficult to rank the best model from the given features. It is a matter of give and take between the two models and therefore it may depend on the customer’s personal photographing needs to make a choice on which camera to opt for. At the same time, the price of the two cameras could also be an issue. While Nikon D7000 is retailing at $1200, Canon 7D is retailing at $1700 (Davis). Having considered how the various functional units and features of these cameras work, the Nikon model has an advantage. While that retail price of Nikon D7000 may be seen to be higher than the D300s, it is considerably affordable when a comparison is made with other models on the market. This new model of Nikon has managed to meet the needs of many customers who were unhappy with the dominance of the likes of Canon. Its features and the price explain it all, that it is worth it.
