The Discovery Centre of Winchester is in SO23 SB from Winchester and it is alongside the street of Jewry. There are many services offered at the centre which include a shopping centre whereby people buy several items, it also serves as a home for the displaced people, there are also sites where families could spend their weekends having fun and finally it provides sites where children could have fun. The Winchester Discovery Centre also hosts events where children take their autobiographies to be signed by the big stars. It also has big restaurants and cafeteria and many more resources that are sold to get revenue. In addition, there is also a public library where people prefer to go for personal studies in most of the times. The library is always very full of people from all corners, although most of them come from around Winchester (Curley 2009, p. 56). The discovery Centre of Winchester holds so many people who are very busy with several activities around. Both the parents, students, especially the college students, and also the kids fill the community centre as they get engaged in several activities in the community centre. Apart from the fact that the centre enables the parents and their children to spend enjoyable weekends, they also get the opportunity to improve the relationship between the parents and their children. The people working in the various departments, especially the staff members and the managers handle the customers or the parents and the children in a very friendly manner and they provide everything they require. Education and the learning process are well supported by the Gallery in the Discovery Centre of Winchester. Many people who have ever visited the community centre have confirmed this. Various activities and programs are provided in the community centre including exhibitions and the in-gallery activities that suit all ages of people. The programs go hand in hand with the theme in the displays of the retail. The programs were inclusive of family, school and weekend programs (Jacoby & Glauberman 2000, p. 23). The main aim of the Discovery Centre of Winchester is to ensure that the people around live comfortably hence promoting the welfare of the people. The community and the neighbouring institutions hold meetings to discuss the ways that they could be able to promote the welfare of the people around and thus coming up with ways to promote comfort and fun for the people. The Discovery Centre of Winchester organized several events with the local institutions around in order to have fun. Workshops were also organized in the schools where students were taught to make sculptures and other features of the artistic professions (Hampshire County Council 2014, p. 19). This facility helps both the parents and the children to learn the requirements needed by the artists and thus they are able to exploit and explore their talents. Many people who have had the chance to experience the facility have admitted that it works efficiently. This is because the staff members are friendly and favourable despite the fact that the services are modernized and the products have a high quality. Social media sites such as Facebook pages, Twitter and email are used majorly to give information to the people about the daily events and programs and also to be at par with the community. Libraries which contain various services such s the Videos, DVDs, CDs, VCDs and books can be used by both the parents and children and eventually enjoy using the resources comfortably (Osborne 2009, p88). The Discovery Centre of Winchester has also several institutions that offer several services to the community for example, it has several buses which transport the people of Winchester. There are several other services that they provide. These include the libraries where people go to do their personal research and personal studies as well. There are also cafeterias which provide good and delicious meals to the people around. There are also bookshops which are allocated within Winchester which also provide a variety of books that people would require especially in their studies and also for their personal or leisure reading. Lastly, there are galleries of art which equip both the children and the adults with the knowledge based for art work and also they practice making sculptures. The services offered are many and at least benefit everybody (Grandin 2009, p. 97). There are institutions which offer classes locally for the local people in order to provide the education needed by both the children and the parents. The classes held locally incorporate both the spiritual studies, especially for the singers of the choir and the studies done at high school. Therefore, the Discovery Centre of Winchester gives both the children and the parents the opportunity to discover their talents and explore and this eventually makes all the beneficiaries who include the children, parents, and students to appreciate the fact that all their needs are catered for. The theatres, restaurants, denominations and the car parks are being taken care of by the churches such as City Church, Baptist Church, and St Peter Catholic Church (Regan 2004, p. 45). In spite the fact that the Discovery Centre is trying its best to ensure that they have catered for the needs of the clients, they also have strengths and weakness. One of the strengths is the provision of shelter for the people who were homeless. There is only one most recognized Night Shelter in Hampshire is known for providing emergency accommodation for the people who are homeless and it has begun functioning in 1988 (Bernstein & Simeone 2013, p. 102). The Night Shelter so far holds a capacity of about 200 hundred people per year and research gives it that the homeless people accommodated in the Night Shelter have the permission to stay until they find their own place where they can be able to shift. Managers of the shelter have come up with programs of giving emotional support and counselling to ensure that the homeless people are able to overcome with any problems they are facing. This is one the strength of Winchester Discovery Centre (Sinsheimer 2009, p. 36). Despite the strengths there are also weaknesses. One of the major weaknesses is the location of the facility whereby it is located in a place where there is no any media station such as a radio or newspaper. Therefore, any communication by the media is entirely limited, especially that which would enhance the relationship between the facilitators and the Discovery Centre. There are also several posters hanged around which give varied options that confuse the clients (Boston Mass 2004, p. 13). The clients end up not knowing which step is based that can be taken. The posters provide various options of the fun activities facilitated on a daily basis and a client is supposed to choose from the several options. In order for improvisation, the options could be fit incase they are reduced and also advertisement done through the media, for example done through the social media, the newspapers, radios and other public awareness (Jarman & Reynolds 2007, p. 61). Conclusion In summation, the Discovery Centre of Winchester has brought many developments to Winchester. It has helped the students, children and parents in all the fields by facilitating the fun activities and other activities that make the clients comfortable. These activities are suitable for people of all ages. Despite all the activities enacted to make the clients comfortable, the facility also has weaknesses and strengths which it normal to every organization. The fact remains that the facility has really helped several people cutting through all ages, including children, parents and students as well. Generally, the Winchester Discovery Centre has brought more positive effects compared to the negative effects.
