Pascal’s Wager about God Pascal gives a practical reason for believing in God, even under the assumption that God does not exist. Pascal was unimpressed by the ontological and cosmological proofs of God’s existence offered by his predecessors. It is apparent that the potential of believing is vast as to make betting on theism rational. Pascal states that if people believe in God, they will do good things being afraid of the consequences of our actions. But if he does not exist, it will be a show of gratitude in our lives.

When people lose faith in God, they do not do good things or care about his actions. I agree with Pascal that his view is a practical guide in our belief. This is because it outlines the implications expected when one chooses to believe or is of the contrary perception. I choose to believe in God and by this I will do good things, follow the commandments and have the conscience of my actions. According to Pascal, it is evident that if God does not exist, I will be able to do something good when am alive.

As in the case where God exists, I will have eternal happiness in the afterlife. Also, Pascal proves that believing in God is better as there is no negative implication in the way we coexist with other people. Also, i will do it with passion because I love God not the way many religious people consider the concept of heaven and hell as their primary concern on their belief to God.
