Political Science American Political Parties Essay The Conservative Movement Including the Tea Party The Tea Party has turned to be a very powerful force in matters and dealings of the United State‘s government. Although the roots of The Tea Party may be unclear, it emerged as an outrage toward government dealings and government officials within the U.S. the online social networks are believed to have worked their way in coordinating their efforts. The Tea Party has loyalties in the government who uphold their mission and participate in the team’s functions such as the mission aimed to promote financial responsibility, free markets and constitutionally controlled governments. The social media has played a major role in enhancing its popularity due to the wide access to different people miles from each other. The movement’s title was born after a tea party event held in Boston in the early years. It was composed of anti-taxes protestors. The held away the proposed tea taxes from the British to introduce taxes in colonies late in the 18th century. Presently, these tea partiers insist that the Obama government is embezzling them in a similar manner. Some of their recent protests include those against 2009s obesity taxes, government spending and the Porkulus Protests. These upheavals swelled to national levels (Skocpol, 2012). The Santelli infamous rant may have further strengthened the movement where more followers were realized and The Tea Party title began to be heard often from Fox News in support of the protests. Websites and social networks were set up to organize protests across the nation. Technology has played a major role in its growth besides loyalties. The movement is layered with a heavy presence of republicans. All well wishers and supporters are accepted in this unbiased movement. The other reason why it has gathered quick growth is as a result of its members’ intellectuality; cuts across all ages, all ethnicities and independent or conservative. They are self-proclaimed representatives of their fellow citizens. They highly disapprove Barrack’s policies in foreign Muslim nations; they provide conservative views in social matters such as gay marriages and harsh immigration rules. They maintain that gay marriage rights should not be granted. However they acknowledge that they may be allowed into relationships but not the latter as this would step on Christian virtues. They wish that there would be respect for their tradition and cultures (Skocpol, 2012). The Tea Party is against overtaxing and expenditure at a time when the economy is at the verge of being crippled after the Stimulus package that has not seen the right of day given that its funding was to be from taxes. This had people resorting to government housing and welfare systems. Government involvement is common amongst The Tea Partiers; the constitution was made for free and equal citizens although it is turning to be a dominant societal role that is forbidden in the constitution (Skocpol, 2012). They screen all bills including the famous health bill which they believed had more than it was accorded against the American’s beliefs. The Tea Party played a major role protesting against it as it waited to be signed by the senate. The Tea Partiers also insist that most leaders have not achieved what they promised their subjects, power mishandling and false promises are not entertained in a believe that there is biasness in the congress. Their aim is to control the government’s actions and conform to the desires of the citizens before tough bills are signed into laws. The issues raised by the partiers touch on the most vulnerable citizens who form a large population. This can be attributed to the gaining the presidency in the 1980s, the House of Representatives from the elections of 1994 through the elections of 2004, and the House of Representatives once more in 2010 and 2012. The officials are looking forward to establishment of term limits in the congress to achieve stability in the government in a move to change the faces that have served for consecutive terms. These term limits have gained popularity where polls indicate that well over 73% of the Americans are in support, less than six office terms. It has ensured its presence in an active manner as they push for their beliefs in the good and right issues of the American people (Chait, 2008). The leaders who lack friendly bases with the tea parties disagree that The Tea Party is the future’s driving force from thousands of Americas. The thousands represent the entire nation in failing projects, economy and therefore giving it a reason to grow even stronger and stay a while longer. The political enthusiasts and involvement in issues of politics will persist to wax and wane form one election to the next. Although the rallies against the presently in power can not deprive him off his powers, the economy is now trudging along though not roaring back as expected. In 2011 the public trust on their government had reached the lowest figure recorded. The government was seen to lack the ability to solve serious issues such as the debt ceiling. At the verge of recession and financial crisis, there were no expectations in the congress and the president to achieve any substantial leads prior to the 2012 elections. The authors wrote the book, ‘It’s Even Worse Than it Looks’ in an attempt to identify the reasons of dysfunctional politics and the desired changes (Mann, 2012). The solutions involved in decisions on leadership in the white house, the supreme court and the congress in the near future in consideration of the grave problems and polarization in political parties. As indicated below, the book established the two main sources of dysfunctional politics. Firstly, the identified the mismatches among parties that have turned to vehement adversaries as political parliamentary parties, governing systems which make it hard for majority act. Mann have put it outright that Ranney was indeed reporting on a prophetic angle as the country presently has parties depicted in the report as potential disaster (Mann, 2012). Second is the reality that, despite the awkwardness from non-partisan analysts and traditional press in acknowledging either party, the republic side has turned to be an outlier of insurgence. It is ideologically extreme while disapproving economic policies and inherent social regime (Mann, 2012). These parties are prone to scorning compromise without persuasion from conventional agreement with the opinions or factual evidence or science. This forms a dismissing legitimacy in opposing politics. Where one of the parties deviates far from the center of the actual matters affecting the nation, it poses a great threat in enacting bills that would address pressing challenges. Now that the dysfunctions have already been in place, it will not be possible to escape it given its firm establishment and varying interests from the leaders. However, it matters what the general public takes of the oppositions introduced by politicians that would have personal vendetta among them, the public has to be in the forefront to redirect the waves of action where deemed necessary for the sake of their futures. Realization of the two main realities and a good understanding of the path America has travelled to get here is of importance before decision making to the right tracks to override dysfunctional politics (Mann, 2012).
