This paper seeks to analyze how the United State immigration policy affected the neighboring countries (James, & Edmonston, 2012). Immigration in the united state is complex and is the major source of population growth and cultural changes. The population and cultural effects that the immigration has in the system is what compel the introduction of the policy to regulate the influx of people in the state. These policies as a result have direct effect on the neighboring countries that these immigrants come like China Cuba Mexico Europe. Immigration policy has three dimensions which cause controversy. The political, social and economical, these dimensions have the controversy regarding ethnicity, economic benefit and criminal activities. Ethnicity, crime and settlement pattern pose a great challenge to the federal government and therefore the need to regulate the movement of people into the states. The refugees and terrorism concepts have been the ground upon which conflicting policies are based which have impact on the international relations with other countries. The international relations are guided by the policy such that if the policy is too strict the states will have negative attitude towards the other (Snidal 2009). On the other hand if the policy is not strict will allow positive relationships that allow the people to migrate and settle in the new areas The history of immigration in United State is viewed in four perspectives: during the colonial period, the mid 19th century, the start of the 20th century and the post 1965. In each period there were a distinct groups, races and ethnicities in the United States. These groups included English people who migrated during the colonial error. The mid 19th century saw mainly the influx from the northern Europe and the 20th century mainly from the southern and eastern Europe and mostly from Latin American and Asia. The immigration policy traces its origin in the history of immigration. There have been policies to allow people to enter the state due as they interact with each other. The interaction leads to social integration among the different ethnic group and they become naturally members of the United State. The free movement of people from other nations into the system improves the economy of the nation because employment would be created (Portes & Rumbaut, 2006). The liberal movement is an opportunity to explores and express the freedom. The freedom to work in different states and free interactions would be the best opportunity constructs the reality in which there is no social discrimination against color or race. The social integration creates the opportunity to intermarry and settle in any country that is deemed best for any one. United state has provided conducive environment for the refugees and political asylum seeker from the politically warring nations. Due to high increase of refugees and terrorism in the united state, the immigration policies have been intensified to reduce the movement from other nation. The state has introduced the visa card and a thorough such at the boarders to eliminate the individuals who may perpetuate the act of terrorism. Due the introduction of restriction measure various nation have shown displeasure towards these policies that limit the human movements. The state is the overall decision maker and exercises the supreme authority over the other. No state should force the other to accept its rules and regulation but should relate as equal in all the aspect. The state is the rational decision maker in every decision that must be respected. There is no actor above the state that has the ability of regulating their interactions. The state when deciding on the policy must arrive at relations with other states on their own rather than being dictated by other higher controlling units (Borjas, 2007). Even though the international systems exist in the state on constant antagonism, no state should impose its authority on the other. The imposition on the policy to other states on terrorism is the major cause of the conflict. It regulated the number of immigrants from other nations into the American systems. They exercise excess authority on others which the other nations are against. In most cases the international relations are strengthen when the policies that exist between them is conducive and no state over look the performance of the other. The most important actor this policy are the states themselves. All the states in the international relation system are considered as unitary and rational actors. The state tends to pursue self-interest. In this case the self interest is to reduce the immigrant from other countries entering the borders of the in order to reduce terrorism and refugees. The main interest of the state is survival. The states are self seeking their own personal interest at the expanse of others. The individual nature of the state in made of anarchy. In regard to self interest, these states are self reliant are motivated in more power. They also believed to be fearful by other nations. The immigration policy only advances one side if the state and does not consider the need of other state (Daniels 2004). The policy burrows more from the realism theory which is contrasted by the liberalism which argued that each man and the state have the right to life, liberty and property. The state should not violets the rights of liberty and natural right of movement. The immigration policy should aloe the free movement and interaction of the people without any limitations. It is based on human rights, civil rights, democratic societies and secular government. During the 20th century liberal ideas spread to other liberal democracies and found themselves in winning both side of the war. Social liberalism was established in Europe and North American as key components in the expansion of the states of the welfare states. The united state policy on immigration comes in time when liberalism was spreading to other nation. As they migrate into the united state the immigrant was restricted and therefore the nations consider it as being authoritarian than other states. The exercise the interest of accumulating power to ensure security is an anarchical world, where power is considered as accumulated resources in relation to other (Lamm & Imhoff, 2011). The united state considered herself of controlling other nations even the immigrant into the nation in order to protect their economy and the act of terrorism in their state. The state speaks and acts as one voice. Its powers are understood in terms of the military capabilities. The state employ rational decision making by obtaining and acting upon complete, exact and accurate information is sovereign and is guided by the rational interest defined in terms of power. There is no international authority and the states are left town their own to device their own security method. In this regard the united state introduced thorough such at the borders and the visa card to limit the number of refugees and the terrorists in their nations (Bodnar 2011). The immediate solution to this issue of restricting the movement of people into the United State is to strengthen international relation. The nations act as equal partners and no state should exercise authority over the other. The United State immigration policy should consider other state as the sovereign and should not impose their policies on them. The immigrants should be allowed in the state and treated as equal human being without any desperation. The refugees are everywhere and a more advance and universal policies should be endorsed by most of the countries. Human relation should be considered more important than the resources of the country that make if formulate policies that are inhuman in nature. Human life should be given the first priority by the state before they come up policies. There is also the need of international consultations to come up with universal policies which include the interest of others so that their future conflict can be avoided (Nader 2009). On the matters of security the state should always be aware of the actions of other states around them and it must use pragmatic approach to resolve a problem as they arise. The state should consider the interest of other in order to reduce the conflict arising as a result of policy which is in place. The better policy option in this case of refugee and terrorism would be to allow the international immigrant into the states and form a strong network and task force to fight terrorism (Briggs Jr. 2012). The act of terror is a joint responsibility and restriction will only make the situation worse. People should interact and know each other and treat each other equally. Regardless of the resources accumulated, all human being are equal and their rights should not be interfered with at the expense of terrorism (Bankston & Antoinette 2007). In conclusion, the conflict is brought about by the immigration policy of the United States which restricts the movement of people which other nations are against because they are considered to have equal powers and ability and therefore should not be dictated or intimidated.
