It poses a lot of stress, both physically and emotionally, to the employees hence the need to take the physical ability tests. This will ensure that the employees get a clear implication of what getting into the job would mean for them. APPLICANTS NECESSARY PREPARATIONIf the applicants have any kinds of medical issues, they need not involve themselves in any strenuous physical activities that may pose as a risk to their health. Prior to taking the physical ability tests, the applicants are advised to engage in a few exercises in order to ensure they stay in shape and increase their capability of passing the test.

TEST COMPONENTS Test Description This test aims to determine how physically fit the applicants for the job position are in order for them to perform their tasks and duties effectively. Related Job TaskAs a door-to-door salesperson, one has to be physically fit in order to ensure they can maintain good sales. In order to ensure that the people hired to perform the tasks do not fail the organization, it is imperative that these physical ability tests be carried out in order to determine those best fit for the positions (Aamodt, 2013).

Procedure There will be a one-minute sit up test. All applicants are required to perform the sit-ups for a whole minute and expected to execute it the right way. In addition, the applicants will walk for a mile to test their cardio-vascular endurance considering how much walking the work will have. The applicants are not supposed to run or jog, but should complete the test as fast as possible. At the end of it the heart rates of the applicants will be measured. For physical ability, the applicants will also be expected to climb a ladder and the time they take will be measured (Aamodt, 2013).

Criteria The applicants will be given either a pass or a fail on the stipulated physical fitness tasks. There will be penalties for any applicant who fails to follow the instructions on how the task is to be performed. The applicants must not necessarily perform the tasks perfectly, but should at least perform to the best of their ability.ReferenceAamodt, M. G. (2013). Industrial/organizational psychology: An applied approach. Belmont, CA: Wadsworth, Cengage Learning.
