Direction of needs analysis and number The needs assessment is a process that has been neglected in most companies (Reed &Vakola 2006). This author purports that the analysis is a collection, assessment and informational analysis to point out the areas where training is required. The idea that erupts from the posting is valid since it provides an insight in the need to carry out an assessment. The reasons provided unto why organizations fail to carry out need assessment are also valid (Jason, 2012).

In addition to the lack of a structured framework to support the assessment process, organization size parameter is a hindrance to the process. Many organizations have the notion that there is a minimum size of an organization that needs to carry out the performance and need assessment (Reed & Vakola, 2006).According to Jason (2012), the size parameter only affects the complexity of the process but does not guarantee the idea of too small for the assessment. He implies that as long as the company has future objectives to be achieved the question of how far and what has to change or be improved has to be answered.

To answer these questions, the needs assessment has to be carried out (Keynes, 2011).According to Gyers (2012), departmentalized organizations carry out assessment per department they consolidate the outcomes as the major position of the company. It is a good option for many big organizations. In addition to the changing nature of the organization, the cost of the trainings in organizations hinders the assessment process (Keynes, 2011).Keynes (2011) alludes that every need assessment has a response value.

If the company was not operating well, the recommendations shall involve cost based procedures, hence, may companies opt to operate in the same state in fear of additional expenditure.
